Wemade is known for creating the 'Legend of Mir' MMORPG series, which reportedly attracted over 120 million users across Asia. The WEMIX3.0 mainnet uses a Stake-based Proof of Authority (SPoA) consensus mechanism governed by 40 elected Node Council Partners (NCPs), colloquially called 'WONDER' nodes, each required to stake 1.5 million WEMIX tokens. The ecosystem consists of three principal components: WEMIX Play (blockchain gaming portal), NILE (NFT and DAO platform), and WEMIX.Fi (DeFi hub). WEMIX$ is the platform's native USD-pegged stablecoin, designed to be 100% collateralized by USDC held in a treasury, with minting access restricted exclusively to the DIOS stability protocol under normal operations. Total registered users on WEMIX Play grew from approximately 417,000 in 2024 to over 5.42 million by end-2025, a roughly 1,200% year-over-year increase.","heading":"Platform Overview","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX: The High-Performance Blockchain Gaming and DeFi Ecosystem by Korea's Wemade — Gate Wiki","type":"research","url":"https://www.gate.com/crypto-wiki/article/wemix-the-high-performance-blockchain-gaming-and-defi-ecosystem-by-koreas-wemade"},{"credibility":2,"name":"What Is WEMIX? By exploiting these compromised privileges, the attacker minted approximately 5,225,525 WEMIX$ tokens outside the protocol's intended 100%-collateralized issuance pathway, creating uncollateralized supply. The attacker converted these tokens into approximately 30,736 WEMIX native tokens and 724,198.27 USDC.e via decentralized exchange swaps, then bridged the USDC.e from WEMIX3.0 to Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, where funds were further converted into ETH and USDT and dispersed across multiple wallets, with portions deposited at centralized exchanges. The total estimated loss was approximately $6.25 million. WEMIX has not definitively disclosed the precise compromise vector, stating uncertainty as to whether the breach 'resulted from a stolen private key, compromised signing infrastructure, a multisignature failure, an internal account breach, or a problem with an upgrade mechanism.' In response, WEMIX suspended all bridges (including Chainlink CCIP and PLAY Bridge), froze affected liquidity pools, paused the WEMIX$ conversion module and PNIX DEX, disabled NFT marketplace trading, requested asset freezes from global exchanges and stablecoin issuers, and initiated comprehensive contract audits. WEMIX.Fi's total value locked dropped approximately 66% following these emergency measures. The WEMIX$ stablecoin devalued by approximately 98.9% in the week following the breach.","heading":"July 2026 WEMIX$ Stablecoin Admin Exploit","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Hacked Again: $6.25M Stablecoin Exploit Forces Network Shutdown — CryptoTimes","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2026/07/27/wemix-hacked-again-6-25m-stablecoin-exploit-forces-network-shutdown/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Freezes Bridges After Owner Key Breach, Mints 5.23M WEMIX — Crypto.news","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/wemix-freezes-bridges-after-owner-key-breach-mints-5-23m-wemix/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX$ Hack Explained: 5.23M Tokens Minted and $724K Moved Across Chains — KuCoin","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.kucoin.com/blog/wemix-dollar-hack-unauthorized-mint-explained"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Confirms Admin Privilege Breach Led To $5.2M Abnormal Stablecoin Minting — BitcoinWorld","type":"news_article","url":"https://bitcoinworld.co.in/wemix-admin-breach-stablecoin-issuance/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Compromised Owner Contract Let Hackers Print 5.2M WEMIX Stablecoins Out of Thin Air — CryptoSlate","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptoslate.com/wemix-owner-breach-minted-5-23m-tokens-outside-its-100-backed-stablecoin-controls/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Korea's First Game-Company Stablecoin Hit by Security Breach — Seoul Economic Daily","type":"news_article","url":"https://en.sedaily.com/finance/2026/07/27/koreas-first-game-company-stablecoin-hit-by-security-breach"}]},{"content":"On February 28, 2025, attackers drained approximately 8.65 million WEMIX tokens from the Play Bridge Vault, the proprietary cross-chain bridge infrastructure. The stolen tokens were valued at approximately $6.1 to $6.2 million at the time. The breach was traced to compromised authentication keys used for monitoring the NILE NFT platform. Investigators believe the attackers obtained these keys from a shared code repository where a developer had uploaded them for convenience — a practice suspected to have occurred as early as mid-2023, giving attackers roughly two months to plan before executing 15 withdrawal attempts, 13 of which were successful. The remaining funds were laundered through overseas exchanges. Unlike the July 2026 exploit, the February 2025 breach was a private key compromise rather than a smart contract ownership attack, indicating separate failure modes but a common theme of inadequate credential management.","heading":"February 2025 Play Bridge Vault Hack","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Hacked Again: $6.25M Stablecoin Exploit Forces Network Shutdown (references 2025 incident) — CryptoTimes","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2026/07/27/wemix-hacked-again-6-25m-stablecoin-exploit-forces-network-shutdown/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Explained: The Wemix Hack (March 2025) — Halborn Security","type":"research","url":"https://www.halborn.com/blog/post/explained-the-wemix-hack-march-2025"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Suffers Second Security Breach: $724K Stolen Through Unauthorized Token Minting — Blockonomi","type":"news_article","url":"https://blockonomi.com/wemix-suffers-second-security-breach-724k-stolen-through-unauthorized-token-minting"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wemix CEO Denies $6 Million Hack Coverup — Fully Crypto","type":"news_article","url":"https://fullycrypto.com/wemix-ceo-denies-6-million-hack-coverup"}]},{"content":"Following the February 28, 2025 Play Bridge hack, Wemade CEO Kim Seok-hwan waited four days before publicly disclosing the breach, announcing it on March 4, 2025. The CEO stated the delay was intentional: 'We did not make an immediate announcement because prematurely publicizing information without identifying the method of the exploit could expose us to further attacks.' Kim accepted full personal responsibility for the delay and apologized to investors. Critics and South Korean regulators did not accept this justification. During the four-day window, the WEMIX token price declined approximately 18% before the announcement, falling further to a 40% cumulative drop by the time of disclosure, raising questions about whether informed parties may have had advance knowledge. The Digital Asset eXchange Alliance (DAXA) — the joint body of South Korea's five major crypto exchanges — cited the disclosure failure as a central reason for its decision to delist WEMIX from domestic exchanges.","heading":"Disclosure Delay and CEO Controversy (2025)","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"Wemix Says Delay in Disclosing $6.2 Million Hack Was to Prevent Panic — The Block","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/346565/wemix-hack-delayed-report"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wemix Delayed $6.2M Hack Report to Prevent Panic, CEO Says — CryptoTimes","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2025/03/18/wemix-delayed-6-2m-hack-report-to-prevent-panic-ceo-says/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wemix CEO Denies Cover-Up Claims After $6 Million Hack — CoinPaper","type":"news_article","url":"https://coinpaper.com/8020/wemix-ceo-denies-cover-up-claims-after-6-million-hack"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wemix CEO: Delayed $6.2M Hack Announcement Was to Prevent 'Market Panic' — CoinJournal","type":"news_article","url":"https://coinjournal.net/news/wemix-ceo-delayed-6-2m-hack-announcement-was-to-prevent-market-panic/"}]},{"content":"WEMIX has now been delisted from South Korean domestic exchanges twice. The first delisting occurred in December 2022 when DAXA — comprising Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax — removed WEMIX citing undisclosed discrepancies between reported and actual token circulation volumes, alleging Wemade had filed false information. A court denied Wemade's injunction request at that time. WEMIX was gradually relisted on domestic exchanges between February and August 2023 following remediation efforts. Following the February 2025 hack and delayed disclosure, DAXA announced a second delisting on May 2, 2025, with trading suspension effective June 2, 2025, and withdrawal services discontinued as of July 2, 2025. WEMIX became the first cryptocurrency to be delisted twice in South Korea. On May 30, 2025, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50 dismissed Wemade's injunction request against the exchanges. On September 9, 2025, the Seoul High Court's Civil Division 25-1 dismissed Wemade's appeal, ruling that Wemade and WEMIX had not faithfully disclosed important matters related to the coin, and that initial circumstances of the system breach had not been properly confirmed. The second delisting caused the WEMIX token to plunge approximately 60% within minutes of the announcement. Separately, Wemade filed an antitrust complaint with the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) in May 2025, alleging the five exchanges violated Article 40 of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act through coordinated delisting — a complaint that remained unresolved as of the time of reporting.","heading":"South Korean Exchange Delistings and Court Proceedings","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"Wemix Becomes 1st Cryptocurrency to Be Delisted Twice in Korea — The Korea Times","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/economy/cryptocurrency/20250502/wemix-becomes-1st-cryptocurrency-to-be-delisted-twice-in-korea"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Wemade's Wemix Token Plunges 60% After South Korean Exchanges Announce Delisting — The Block","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/352911/wemades-wemix-token-plunges-after-south-korean-exchanges-announce-delisting"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Seoul High Court Dismisses Wemade's Appeal Against WEMIX Delisting Injunction Rejection — Asia Economy Daily","type":"court_filing","url":"https://cm.asiae.co.kr/en/article/2025090918385438316"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Court Ruling Spurs June 2 Delisting, Rebound Hopes — CryptoNews","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptonews.com/news/wemix-vows-resilience-after-court-upholds-token-delisting-whats-next-for-the-gaming-crypto-giant/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wemix Delisting Sparks Antitrust Probe in South Korea — CoinSpeaker","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coinspeaker.com/south-koreas-top-exchanges-face-antitrust-heat-for-wemix-delisting/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Delisting: Key Reasons, Impacts, and Broader Implications — OKX Learn","type":"research","url":"https://www.okx.com/learn/wemix-delisting-reasons-impacts-implications"},{"credibility":1,"name":"South Korean Court Denies Injunction Against Crypto Exchanges for Delisting WEMIX (2022) — CoinDesk","type":"court_filing","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/12/08/south-korean-court-denies-injunction-against-crypto-exchanges-for-delisting-metaverse-token-wemix"}]},{"content":"Both the February 2025 and July 2026 security failures share a common root in centralized credential management. The February 2025 breach exploited authentication keys stored in a shared developer repository — a process control failure. The July 2026 breach exploited owner-level administrative privileges over the WEMIX$ contract itself, a design-level risk. The WEMIX$ stablecoin architecture concentrates minting authority in a single contract owner address, meaning that compromise of that credential bypasses the 100%-collateralization rule entirely, as collateral adequacy is enforced by the access control layer rather than by the contract's core logic. WEMIX has not confirmed whether its admin key model uses a multisignature wallet, a hardware security module, or a time-locked governance mechanism on the stablecoin contract. The pattern indicates that WEMIX's security posture has not structurally improved between incidents — both breaches resulted from single points of failure in credential management rather than from novel cryptographic attacks.","heading":"Architectural Risk: Centralized Admin Key Model","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Compromised Owner Contract Let Hackers Print 5.2M WEMIX Stablecoins Out of Thin Air — CryptoSlate","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptoslate.com/wemix-owner-breach-minted-5-23m-tokens-outside-its-100-backed-stablecoin-controls/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX$ Hack Explained: 5.23M Tokens Minted and $724K Moved Across Chains — KuCoin","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.kucoin.com/blog/wemix-dollar-hack-unauthorized-mint-explained"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Confirms Admin Privilege Breach Led To $5.2M Abnormal Stablecoin Minting — BitcoinWorld","type":"news_article","url":"https://bitcoinworld.co.in/wemix-admin-breach-stablecoin-issuance/"}]},{"content":"WEMIX reached an all-time high of approximately $24.68 in November 2021, driven by the MIR4 play-to-earn game launch which achieved over 1.4 million concurrent users. The first DAXA delisting in December 2022 caused the token to fall from approximately $1.55 to $0.46 within hours, erasing roughly $287 million in market capitalization. Following relisting, WEMIX recovered to approximately $4.35 at its 2023 peak. The February 2025 hack and subsequent June 2025 delisting sent the token from approximately $0.72 to $0.27 in a 15-minute period, with further decline to approximately $0.34 at the June 2, 2025 trading suspension. As of the time of the July 2026 exploit, the token was already trading at a fraction of its historic highs — approximately 98.5% below its November 2021 peak — reflecting the accumulated impact of the three governance and security incidents. Wemade filed antitrust complaints in an attempt to contest domestic exchange removals, but courts upheld both delistings.","heading":"Token Price and Market History","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Price Plunges 60% After Major Korean Exchanges Announce Second Delisting — CryptoNews","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptonews.com/news/wemix-price-plunges-60-after-major-korean-exchanges-announce-second-delisting/"},{"credibility":3,"name":"Wemix Token Plunges 40% After $6.2M Hack, CEO Denies Cover-Up — Ainvest","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.ainvest.com/news/wemix-token-plummets-40-6-2m-hack-ceo-denies-cover-2503/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"WEMIX Token Price History — CoinLore","type":"on_chain","url":"https://www.coinlore.com/coin/wemix-token/historical-data"}]},{"content":"In October 2022, DAXA issued an investment warning against WEMIX, alleging significant discrepancies between the reported and actual circulating supply of WEMIX tokens. Verify offline (run on your own machine)
    python -m src.verify_decision db043ecb-0b64-4de3-a4a5-9e847ed2dfd5
How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
