Audit log

Every state-changing event for NoOnes Exchange: moderation decisions on community submissions, plus corrections and updates from the news pipeline. URL-based decisions are designed to carry three independent witnesses — the original source, an Internet Archive snapshot, and a Solana memo signed by our publicly-disclosed publisher key. Archive coverage is still being backfilled, so each decision below reports its own snapshot status rather than assuming one exists.

The platform markets itself as a 'financial super app,' combining a Bitcoin and multi-chain wallet, a P2P trading marketplace, a built-in messenger, crypto swaps, gift card trading (SnapX), and mobile top-up services. As of May 2026, the platform reports 2.5 million users globally and approximately 127 employees. NoOnes is headquartered in Dubai and primarily serves users in emerging markets including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, India, and Southeast Asia. The platform supports over 500 payment methods and claims to operate in more than 190 countries. Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT) are the primary traded assets. As of August 2026, the platform's transparency dashboard reports approximately $4.15 million in active buy/sell liquidity, 243 BTC in reserves (~$15.8 million), and approximately $13.9 million in Tether reserves.","heading":"Company Overview","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"About NoOnes — Official Company Page","type":"official","url":"https://noones.app/about"},{"credibility":2,"name":"NoOnes Surpasses 2.5 Million Users Globally — BitKE","type":"news_article","url":"https://bitcoinke.io/2026/05/noones-surpasses-2-and-half-million-users-globally/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"NoOnes Transparency Dashboard","type":"official","url":"https://noones.com/transparency-dashboard"}]},{"content":"NoOnes was founded by Ray Youssef, an Egyptian-American entrepreneur who previously co-founded Paxful, one of the largest peer-to-peer Bitcoin marketplaces prior to its closure in April 2023. Youssef joined NoOnes as CEO in late 2023 following Paxful's shutdown and publicly assumed the founder role. His background includes a period as a self-taught software developer and a brief professional MMA career. Youssef also founded the Built with Bitcoin Foundation, a humanitarian organisation focused on Bitcoin adoption in underserved communities in Africa. In September 2016, Youssef and Paxful co-founder Artur Schaback were arrested in Miami Beach after bystanders observed them on a penthouse balcony handling an AR-15-style rifle. Charges included improper exhibition of a firearm and cocaine possession; those charges were subsequently dismissed. In February 2017, Youssef was arrested in Tallinn, Estonia on suspicion of drug trafficking after allegedly purchasing MDMA and steroids through darknet markets; he later admitted to entering a guilty plea on a drug-related offence in Estonia. These prior incidents became a recurring point of controversy as Youssef's legal exposure at Paxful intensified.","heading":"Founder Background — Ray Youssef","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Drugs, Erratic Dismissals and Feuding Founders: Behind Bitcoin Marketplace Paxful's Unraveling — CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2023/04/08/drugs-erratic-dismissals-and-feuding-founders-behind-bitcoin-marketplace-paxfuls-unraveling"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Paxful co-founder Ray Youssef becomes CEO of Noones — The Block","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/265896/paxful-co-founder-ray-youssef-becomes-noones-ceo"},{"credibility":3,"name":"Paxful CEO Ray Youssef and CTO Artur Schaback arrested in Miami — BitCoin News On Air","type":"news_article","url":"https://bitcoinonair.wordpress.com/2016/09/18/paxful-ceo-ray-yousef-and-cto-artur-schaback-arrested-in-miami-with-ar-15-500-rounds-of-ammo-cocaine-and-hash/"}]},{"content":"In December 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice indicted Ray Youssef in the Eastern District of California on charges stemming from his role as co-founder and former CEO of Paxful. The indictment was filed days after Paxful Holdings, Inc. itself pleaded guilty on December 9, 2025 to three federal counts: (1) conspiracy to violate the Travel Act by facilitating illegal prostitution through interstate commerce, (2) conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business, and (3) conspiracy to fail to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Paxful was sentenced to a $4 million criminal penalty (against an agreed-upon guidelines figure of $112.5 million, reduced due to inability to pay) and was scheduled for formal sentencing on February 10, 2026. The DOJ's investigation found that between 2015 and 2019, Paxful facilitated over 26.7 million trades worth approximately $3 billion, transferred nearly $17 million in bitcoin to Backpage.com (a now-seized platform associated with sex trafficking), and internally referred to this relationship as the 'Backpage Effect.' Separately, co-founder Artur Schaback pleaded guilty in July 2024 to conspiracy to fail to maintain effective AML programs. Youssef's personal indictment focuses on his alleged role in designing a business model that knowingly targeted illicit activity. NoOnes has publicly stated that any legal matters involving Youssef are personal and unrelated to the company. Youssef was not CEO of NoOnes during the alleged Paxful-era conduct.","heading":"DOJ Indictment of Founder — AML and Travel Act Charges","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"DOJ Indicts Paxful Founder Days After Company Pleads Guilty — Yahoo Finance / BeInCrypto","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/doj-indicts-paxful-founder-days-184324987.html"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Virtual Asset Trading Platform Pleads Guilty to Violating the Travel Act — IRS Criminal Investigation","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.irs.gov/compliance/criminal-investigation/virtual-asset-trading-platform-pleads-guilty-to-violating-the-travel-act-and-other-federal-criminal-charges"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Paxful Pleads Guilty to Aiding Crime, Ignoring AML Laws — CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2025/12/10/paxful-pleads-guilty-to-aiding-crime-ignoring-aml-laws"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Despite Changing Priorities, DOJ Enforces AML Requirements Against Crypto Marketplace — Troutman Pepper Locke","type":"research","url":"https://www.troutman.com/insights/despite-changing-priorities-dojs-money-laundering-narcotics-and-forfeiture-section-enforces-aml-requirements-against-cryptocurrency-marketplace/"}]},{"content":"In parallel with the DOJ criminal action, FinCEN issued a $3.5 million civil penalty against Paxful Inc. and Paxful USA Inc. via a consent order (dated December 2025) for willful violations of the Bank Secrecy Act covering the period February 2015 through April 2023. FinCEN's consent order found that Paxful willfully failed to: register as a money services business (MSB); maintain a risk-based anti-money laundering program; and submit timely and complete Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). FinCEN determined that Paxful enabled more than $500 million in suspicious transfers, including transactions linked to Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and Backpage.com. FinCEN cited the action as its first published set of compliance considerations in a parallel civil-criminal enforcement action. This action concerns Paxful directly, not NoOnes. However, the documented compliance failures at Paxful under Youssef's leadership are considered relevant context for assessing NoOnes, which operates in an identical business model and market segment under the same founder (until February 2026).","heading":"FinCEN Civil Penalty Against Paxful","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"FinCEN Paxful Consent Order — FinCEN.gov (PDF)","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.fincen.gov/system/files/2025-12/PaxfulConsentOrder.pdf"},{"credibility":2,"name":"FinCEN Imposes $3.5 Million Civil Penalty Against Paxful for BSA Violations — Money Laundering Watch","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.moneylaunderingnews.com/2026/01/fincen-imposes-3-5-million-civil-penalty-against-paxful-for-bsa-violations/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"FinCEN Publishes Compliance Considerations in Parallel Civil and DOJ Actions Against Paxful — Akin Gump","type":"research","url":"https://www.akingump.com/en/insights/alerts/fincen-publishes-first-set-of-compliance-considerations-in-parallel-civil-and-doj-enforcement-actions-against-crypto-company-paxful"}]},{"content":"NoOnes confirmed in February 2026 that Ray Youssef was no longer CEO of the company and that he 'does not participate in the management, operations, or decision-making of the platform.' The company stated that any legal matters involving Youssef are 'personal and unrelated to NoOnes.' The specific legal circumstances prompting the departure were not disclosed by either Youssef or the company. No successor CEO has been publicly named as of August 2026. This marks Youssef's second abrupt departure from a company he founded within three years, following Paxful's closure in April 2023. At the time of departure, NoOnes had reported approximately 2 million users and over $4 million in daily trading volume. The initial attack vector on Ethereum was funded from Tornado Cash, a sanctioned privacy mixer. The attack involved hundreds of individual withdrawals each capped under $7,000 — a 'smurfing' technique designed to evade automated detection systems by mimicking ordinary trading activity. Stolen funds were consolidated across three clusters of 20+ wallet addresses each, bridged between Ethereum and BNB Chain, and then routed through Tornado Cash for final obfuscation. Key Ethereum consolidation addresses included 0x72c1eabafc42a2ac6d0447b02c657b96f07402e6 and 0x4b0edd27196063476d91b634333be289beca9202. On-chain investigator ZachXBT publicly disclosed the breach on January 24, 2025 via his Telegram investigations channel. NoOnes did not issue any public statement at the time of the exploit, characterising the platform downtime as routine maintenance. CEO Youssef only acknowledged the breach in a video statement on or around February 12, 2025 — approximately six weeks after the exploit occurred — attributing the vulnerability to a flaw in NoOnes' Solana cross-chain bridge. NoOnes subsequently shut down the affected Solana bridge and restored Solana trading support by February 11, 2025. No information has been publicly disclosed regarding whether affected users were compensated.","heading":"January 2025 Hot-Wallet Exploit ($7.9 Million)","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Ex-Paxful CEO's Bitcoin Marketplace Noones Exploited for Nearly $8M, ZachXBT Says — Crypto.news","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/ex-paxful-ceos-bitcoin-marketplace-noones-exploited-for-nearly-8m-zachxbt-says/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Hack Track: NoOnes Flow of Funds Analysis — Merkle Science","type":"on_chain","url":"https://www.merklescience.com/blog/hack-track-noones-flow-of-funds-analysis"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Noones Acknowledges $8 Million Exploit After ZachXBT Raises Concerns — CryptoSlate","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptoslate.com/noones-acknowledges-8-million-exploit-after-zachxbt-raises-concerns/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Crypto Platform NoOnes CEO Confirms $8M Hack — Crowdfund Insider","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2025/01/235625-crypto-platform-noones-ceo-confirms-8m-hack-several-weeks-after-security-breach/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"NoOnes CEO Confirms $8M Exploit Weeks After the Fact — The Block","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/337004/noones-ceo-ray-youssef-8-million-exploit-crypto-sleuth-zachxbt-investigation"}]},{"content":"NoOnes has maintained listings for privacy coins at a time when most major regulated exchanges have delisted them in response to regulatory pressure. The FATF's 2020 guidance and subsequent updates have identified P2P platforms, privacy coin support, and coin mixer routing as convergent risk indicators for money laundering and illicit finance. The fact that NoOnes' own January 2025 exploit resulted in stolen funds being routed through Tornado Cash — the same mixer designated by OFAC in August 2022 — highlights the platform's exposure to this risk surface. Recurring complaints documented across Trustpilot and PissedConsumer include: slow or opaque dispute resolution processes; allegations that moderators release escrowed Bitcoin before completing proper investigations; accounts permanently closed without stated cause; frozen wallets and 2FA access issues; and reports of unresponsive customer support during active disputes. Some users allege the platform's dispute handling disproportionately favours sellers or scam actors, while others report prolonged delays in recovering funds from failed trades. Because NoOnes is a P2P marketplace, some complaints involve counterparty scammers rather than the platform itself; however, the platform's internal dispute resolution processes and responsiveness remain an area of user-reported concern. The platform's specific regulatory status in its country of incorporation and primary operating jurisdictions has not been publicly disclosed in verifiable form. Given the platform's prior association with a founder who operated a P2P exchange that the U.S. DOJ and FinCEN found to have systematically failed AML requirements, NoOnes' own AML and KYC framework warrants independent scrutiny. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
