Every state-changing event for Vy Pham: moderation decisions on community submissions, plus corrections and updates from the news pipeline. Archive coverage is still being backfilled, so each decision below reports its own snapshot status rather than assuming one exists.

Saitama LLC was incorporated in Massachusetts in August 2021 as an Ethereum-based meme token inspired by the anime series 'One-Punch Man.' According to the SEC's civil complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts (Case No. 2024-166), Pham was a promoter of the Saitama Inu crypto asset, which the SEC alleges was offered and sold as a security to retail investors in unregistered transactions. The SEC alleges that Pham personally engaged in market manipulation of Saitama Inu through coordinated purchases with other promoters designed to create the illusion of growing market interest and lure new investors. At its peak in November 2021, the Saitama token reached an approximate market capitalization of $7.5 billion, briefly placing it among the top 40 cryptocurrencies globally. Pham subsequently departed from the Saitama project in late 2021.","heading":"Background and Role in Saitama Inu","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"SEC Litigation Release LR-26153: Vy Pham","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.sec.gov/enforcement-litigation/litigation-releases/lr-26153"},{"credibility":1,"name":"DOJ Press Release: Eighteen Individuals and Entities Charged in International Operation Targeting Widespread Fraud and Manipulation in the Cryptocurrency Markets","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/eighteen-individuals-and-entities-charged-international-operation-targeting-widespread"},{"credibility":1,"name":"SEC Complaint against Vy Pham (comp-pr2024-166-pham.pdf)","type":"court_filing","url":"https://www.sec.gov/files/litigation/complaints/2024/comp-pr2024-166-pham.pdf"}]},{"content":"After leaving Saitama in late 2021, Pham founded Robo Inu Finance (ticker: RBIF), an Ethereum-based token that launched in November 2021. The project purported to develop a series of financial products to accompany its cryptocurrency. According to the DOJ criminal information filed in October 2024, beginning in approximately February 2022 and continuing through at least June 2023, Pham allegedly hired Gotbit Consulting LLC — a Belize-registered firm described by prosecutors as a 'market manipulation-as-a-service' provider — to artificially inflate the trading volume of the Robo Inu token through wash trades on cryptocurrency exchanges including BitMart. Prosecutors allege that Pham communicated with Gotbit executives Fedor Kedrov and Qawi Jalili via a private Telegram chatroom, instructing Gotbit to 'slowly increase the volume' of Robo Inu trades so it would appear as trending on CoinMarketCap, and subsequently requesting volume be boosted 'above 1.1mil daily' on BitMart in January 2023. Prosecutors further allege that Pham sought to create 'FOMO by looking as organic volume' and attempted to conceal the manipulation when requesting an 'official agreement.' The wash trading bots allegedly executed thousands of fabricated trades, at times pushing Robo Inu's daily volume above $1 million. Gotbit received $15,000 for three months of manipulation on a single exchange, plus 20% of fraudulent profits and 2% of token liquidation proceeds, according to the DOJ.","heading":"Founding and Alleged Manipulation of Robo Inu Finance","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"DOJ Press Release: Eighteen Individuals and Entities Charged — Operation Token Mirrors","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/eighteen-individuals-and-entities-charged-international-operation-targeting-widespread"},{"credibility":1,"name":"DOJ Criminal Information: United States v. Pham, then 32 years old, was charged by criminal information (a charging document used when a defendant agrees to waive indictment by a grand jury) with conspiracy to commit market manipulation, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business. At the time of the DOJ announcement, Pham had agreed to plead guilty to these charges. The charges carry a statutory maximum of 20 years imprisonment for each conspiracy count related to market manipulation and wire fraud, plus fines of up to $5 million. As of August 2025, no public sentencing date or final judgment for Pham has been confirmed in available sources; the case remains pending resolution.","heading":"DOJ Criminal Charges and Guilty Plea Agreement","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"DOJ Press Release: Eighteen Individuals and Entities Charged — Operation Token Mirrors","type":"regulatory","url":"https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/eighteen-individuals-and-entities-charged-international-operation-targeting-widespread"},{"credibility":1,"name":"DOJ Criminal Information: United States v. The complaint alleges violations of the antifraud and registration provisions of the federal securities laws, characterizing Saitama Inu and Robo Inu as securities offered and sold to the investing public in unregistered transactions. The SEC alleges that Pham's market manipulation of Saitama Inu and her orchestration of wash trading for Robo Inu constitute securities fraud. The SEC also brought a related civil complaint against four other individuals — Russell Armand, Maxwell Hernandez, Manpreet Singh Kohli, and Nam Tran — for their own roles in the Saitama LLC scheme (Litigation Release No. 26155), including making false public statements about buying and holding Saitama Inu while secretly selling, and hiring market makers ZM Quant Investment Ltd. and Gotbit to inflate volume on exchanges including BitMart, LBank, and XT.com. The Saitama leadership allegedly generated tens of millions of dollars from insider token sales to retail investors. The operation is notable for the FBI's unprecedented creation of a fictitious token — NexFund AI — to gather evidence: undercover agents induced all four charged market-making firms (Gotbit Consulting LLC, ZM Quant Investment Ltd., CLS Global FZC, and MyTrade MM) to perform wash trading on behalf of the fake token. The operation resulted in the seizure of more than $25 million in cryptocurrency assets, the deactivation of trading bots used to manipulate approximately 60 tokens, and arrests in the United States, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. Gotbit founder Aleksei Andriunin was arrested in Portugal on October 8, 2024, extradited to the United States in February 2025, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy to commit market manipulation in March 2025, and was sentenced on June 2025 to eight months in prison and one year of supervised release. Gotbit Consulting LLC itself was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to forfeit approximately $23 million in seized cryptocurrency and to cease operations. The token's rise coincided with the 2021 meme coin mania; no material products had been shipped at the time of its peak. Following insider selling and the broader 2022 crypto market downturn, the token collapsed in value. The project underwent two contract migrations — to V2 in June 2022 (at a 1:1,000,000 ratio) and subsequently to SaitaChain Coin (STC) — leaving early holders of the original token with assets that had essentially no liquidity. Robo Inu Finance (RBIF) reached its all-time high price in April 2022 and has since declined to near-zero market capitalization. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
