Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is

Its three co-founders — Sohrab 'Sam' Sharma, Robert Farkas, and Raymond Trapani — had previously operated a luxury car rental business before launching the company in 2017. The company presented itself as a developer of cryptocurrency financial products, chiefly a debit card branded the 'Centra Card' that purportedly allowed users to instantly convert multiple cryptocurrencies into fiat currency at point of sale via the Visa and Mastercard networks. The company issued an ERC-20 utility token called CTR (also referred to as Centra Token) on the Ethereum blockchain, offering it to investors in an ICO that ran from approximately July 2017 through October 2017. The company's promotional materials presented 'Michael Edwards' as its CEO, describing him as a seasoned banker with more than 20 years of experience and an MBA from Harvard University. A second executive, 'Jessica Robinson,' was also presented with an impressive professional biography. Both individuals were entirely fictitious; the profile photo attributed to Michael Edwards was a stock image. According to court records and SEC filings, wiretap evidence revealed that the founders discussed 'getting rid of' these fabricated executives by concocting a story that the pair had died together in an accident once investor suspicions began to surface. Beyond the fake personnel, Centra Tech falsely claimed on its website and in marketing materials that it had partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and The Bancorp to issue and process the Centra Card. Neither Visa, Mastercard, nor Bancorp had any relationship with the company. The company also falsely claimed to hold money transmitter licenses in 38 U.S. states; prosecutors confirmed no such licenses existed.","heading":"Fraudulent Scheme: Fabricated Executives and False Partnerships","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"SEC Civil Complaint: Sohrab Sharma et al. The SEC charged that the CTR token constituted an unregistered security under the Securities Act of 1933, and that Sharma and Farkas violated Section 17(a) of the Securities Act and Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 through material misrepresentations and omissions in connection with the ICO. Raymond Trapani was added to the civil action subsequently. On May 17, 2022, U.S. District Court Judge Lorna Schofield entered final consent judgments against all three defendants. The judgments ordered disgorgement plus prejudgment interest totaling $37,701,966 from Sharma, $2,608,869 from Trapani, and $394,908 from Farkas — amounts deemed satisfied by the parallel criminal forfeiture orders.
