Audit log

Every state-changing event for Open Standard (OUSD): moderation decisions on community submissions, plus corrections and updates from the news pipeline. URL-based decisions are designed to carry three independent witnesses — the original source, an Internet Archive snapshot, and a Solana memo signed by our publicly-disclosed publisher key. Archive coverage is still being backfilled, so each decision below reports its own snapshot status rather than assuming one exists.

Coverage named Coinbase, BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Shopify, Fireblocks, DoorDash, Chime, BNY, BBVA and Adyen among participants with quoted executives. Zach Abrams, co-founder and former CEO of Bridge (the stablecoin infrastructure company Stripe acquired for a reported $1.1 billion, announced October 2024 and closed February 2025), served as Open Standard's interim CEO from the project's unveiling and later moved to lead it full time, stepping back from his role tied to Bridge at Stripe. OUSD launched natively on Solana, alongside Ethereum, Base and Tempo, on September 30, 2026, per the Solana Foundation. Bridge, now a Stripe company, is reported to issue the token, with BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY named as reserve custodians; Open Standard has said it will publish monthly reserve attestations. The stated model allows businesses to mint and redeem OUSD 1:1 at no cost, with most reserve income distributed to participating businesses after a management fee, differing from typical issuer-retained-yield stablecoin models.","heading":"Company Background and Launch","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CoinGape: Open Standard OUSD gets full-time CEO as Bridge co-founder Zach leaves Stripe","type":"news_article","url":"https://coingape.com/block-of-fame/pulse/open-standard-ousd-gets-full-time-ceo-as-bridge-co-founder-zach-leaves-stripe/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Solana Foundation: Open USD is live on Solana","type":"official","url":"https://solana.com/news/open-usd-is-live-on-solana"},{"credibility":2,"name":"FXStreet: Coinbase, BlackRock, Visa and Stripe support Open Standard's OUSD stablecoin","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/coinbase-blackrock-visa-and-stripe-support-open-standards-ousd-stablecoin-202606301820"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Unchained: How new stablecoin startup Bridge got acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion","type":"news_article","url":"https://unchainedcrypto.com/how-new-stablecoin-startup-bridge-got-acquired-by-stripe-for-1-1-billion/"}]},{"content":"Shortly after OUSD's June 30, 2026 launch, reporting by Protos and South Korean outlet Chosun Biz alleged that Open Standard's published list of roughly 149 backing companies overstated the level of commitment from several named firms. Samsung Electronics was reported to have said there had been no official consultations and that the company did not know what role, if any, it would play. Shinhan Financial Group, Dunamu and K-Bank were each reported to have said they had only agreed to review or consider the stablecoin, with no deal reached. OpenAssets founder Gabor Gurbacs said clients of his listed as partners told him they had never signed or agreed to anything. These are allegations reported by named firms and an industry source rather than findings by a regulator or court, and Protos reported it had sought comment from Samsung and Open Standard. Open Standard CEO Zach Abrams is reported to have described the group as 'over 140 businesses' without directly addressing the specific firms' denials in the available coverage.","heading":"Disputed Partnership Claims","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Protos: Open USD is lying about its 149 partnerships, report","type":"news_article","url":"https://protos.com/open-usd-is-lying-about-its-149-partnerships-report/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"CoinEdition: Samsung, Dunamu challenge Open Standard consortium claims","type":"news_article","url":"https://coinedition.com/crypto-live-news/samsung-electronics-dunamu-named-in-ousd-push-as-firms-question-consortium-listing-claims/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"KuCoin News: Open USD consortium faces allegations of faking partnerships","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.kucoin.com/news/flash/open-usd-consortium-faces-allegations-of-faking-partnerships"}]},{"content":"In early July 2026, days after OUSD's launch, a validator operator on the XRP Ledger flagged a newly activated issuer using the 'Open Standard' name. The account was reported to be running promotional material unrelated to the genuine stablecoin, including advertisements offering 'Earn 12% on XRP' and a '70,000 XRP' slots-style promotion, and listed a website hosted on Netlify rather than Open Standard's official domain. A validator operator, quoted in coverage, stated the issuer should be treated as a scam by default until confirmed as genuine by Open USD. This incident is reported as a third-party impersonation scam targeting the OUSD brand rather than an action by Open Standard itself, and no reporting found indicates Open Standard or Ripple validators had, at the time of these reports, issued a formal confirmation or denial.","heading":"Impersonation Incident on XRP Ledger","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"crypto.news: Ripple-backed OUSD hit by fake scam on XRP Ledger","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/ripple-backed-ousd-hit-by-fake-scam-on-xrp-ledger/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"CoinGape: XRP Ledger hit by fake OUSD stablecoin scam, community issues alert","type":"news_article","url":"https://coingape.com/xrp-ledger-hit-by-fake-ousd-stablecoin-scam-community-issues-alert/"}]},{"content":"The OUSD ticker is also used by Origin Protocol's Origin Dollar, an older, unrelated yield-bearing stablecoin that was itself the target of a separate hack in November 2020 in which an estimated $7 million was reported stolen. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
