The team grew to approximately 28 individuals, 16 of whom are software engineers. The ecosystem consists of three primary products: Reaper Farm (a yield aggregator and asset management protocol), Ethos Reserve (a decentralized stablecoin system issuing ERN, pegged to USD), and Digit (a supplementary protocol). OATH holders govern all three platforms and earn protocol revenues. The token launched on March 2, 2022 via a novel Liquidity Generation Event (LGE) on the Fantom (FTM) blockchain, with initial liquidity facilitated through Beethoven X, a Balancer-based DEX on Optimism. The 80/20 OATH/WETH pool on Beethoven X issued a receipt token called bOATH (bonded OATH), used for staking and revenue distribution within Ethos Reserve.","heading":"Project Overview and Background","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Byte Masons: Everything You Need To Know About OATH (Blockbytes)","type":"news_article","url":"https://blockbytes.com/2022/04/14/everything-you-need-to-know-about-oath/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"OATH Foundation: Building a Robust, Liquidity-Rich DeFi Ecosystem (blocmates)","type":"research","url":"https://www.blocmates.com/articles/oath-foundation-building-a-robust-liquidity-rich-defi-ecosystem"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Introducing Ethos Reserve (Medium / Byte Masons)","type":"official","url":"https://medium.com/byte-masons/introducing-ethos-reserve-5f08fa6af52a"}]},{"content":"OATH launched at approximately $0.60 per token and stabilized around $0.25 at the close of its LGE. The all-time high of $0.5856 was recorded on March 3, 2022 — within days of launch. By early 2026 the token had declined approximately 99.98% to roughly $0.000132, with a market capitalization of approximately $22,000 USD and a fully diluted valuation of approximately $53,000 USD. Circulating supply stands at approximately 171.86 million tokens out of a reported maximum supply of 400 million. The token holds a CoinMarketCap ranking of approximately #6,196. CoinMarketCap reports 8,450 token holders as of mid-2026. The token's CertiK Skynet security score is 2.9 out of 100, which is classified as extremely low. The primary reason for the price collapse appears to be a combination of the broad 2022 crypto bear market, the collapse of the Fantom ecosystem following Andre Cronje's departure in March 2022, the August 2022 security exploit, and the eventual project pivot away from the OATH token toward the Cod3x (CDX) rebrand. No verified VC backing has been identified for the OATH token specifically; the Granary Finance component of the ecosystem raised approximately $5 million USDC from the DeFi community via a community-driven LGE in March 2023, which is not traditional venture capital.","heading":"Token Performance and Tokenomics","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"OATH Price — CoinMarketCap","type":"other","url":"https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/oath/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"OATH Price — CoinGecko","type":"other","url":"https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/oath"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Granary Finance Gets $5M Funding From DeFi Community (Blockworks)","type":"news_article","url":"https://blockworks.co/news/granary-finance-defi-lending"}]},{"content":"Reaper Farm, the flagship yield aggregator within the OATH ecosystem, suffered two notable security incidents. First, an earlier bug (allegedly occurring in 2021) locked approximately $2 million in user funds, an event that prompted founder Justin Bebis to deepen the team's focus on security operations. Second, on August 1, 2022, attackers exploited a critical vulnerability in the ReaperVaultV2 smart contract: improper account verification allowed the attacker to withdraw assets belonging to any user. Approximately $1.7 million was drained from multiple vaults. The funds were subsequently bridged to Ethereum and laundered through Tornado Cash. The team responded by using the same vulnerability themselves to drain remaining vulnerable vaults and prevent further theft. The team committed to full repayment of affected users through a sale of vested OATH treasury tokens combined with other treasury assets. The CEO acknowledged that the multi-strategy vaults had not been re-audited after the most recent software update, which allowed the exploited bug to go undetected. Despite a CertiK retainership and audits of specific components, the exploit exposed gaps in the audit coverage protocol.","heading":"Security Incidents","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Reaper Farm exploited for around $1.7 million (Web3 Is Going Great)","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com/?id=reaper-farm-exploited-for-around-1-7-million"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Reaper Farm Just Lost US$1.7 Million From Exploit (ChainDebrief / Pexx)","type":"news_article","url":"https://pexx.com/chaindebrief/reaper-farm-got-hacked/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Reaper Farm's Hack Recovery Plan Includes $OATH Token Sale (The Layer)","type":"news_article","url":"https://thelayer.xyz/reaper-farms-hack-recovery-plan-includes-oath-token-sale/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"8/1/2022 Reaper.Farm Exploit Recovery Plan (Google Docs)","type":"official","url":"https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wymADZrvisr8UNU9BHWh9bgEsO28D2-awhOHlxlQ3X8/edit"}]},{"content":"Byte Masons engaged CertiK on a monthly retainer, with specific Reaper Farm strategy vaults subjected to CertiK audits prior to deployment. A CertiK audit of the multi-strategy vaults found no critical risks at the time of review, and identified risks were acknowledged and addressed. Byte Masons engineers also pursued security fellowships including Kernel0x and yAcademy. Reaper Farm operates a bug bounty program on Immunefi. Despite these measures, the August 2022 exploit revealed that the audit coverage did not extend to all production contract versions. As of mid-2026, the OATH token contract carries a CertiK Skynet score of 2.9 out of 100, a very low rating that reflects the contract's current abandoned and deprecated state rather than a finding of active malicious intent. CertiK Skynet scores assess ongoing project activity, code quality, governance, and on-chain behavior; a near-zero score on a deprecated token is consistent with a project that has ceased active development under that contract.","heading":"Security Audits and CertiK Relationship","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CertiK — Byte Masons DeFi, Reaper Farm, Ethos Reserve (CertiK Blog)","type":"research","url":"https://www.certik.com/resources/blog/video/TUBNOQQnHxO3RFqbiVFF7-byte-masons-or-defi-reaper-farm-yield-ethos-reserve-security-and-more-or"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Reaper Farm Bug Bounties (Immunefi)","type":"official","url":"https://immunefi.com/bug-bounty/reaperfarm/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Byte Masons — Reliquary — CertiK Skynet Project Insight","type":"research","url":"https://skynet.certik.com/projects/byte-masons-reliquary"}]},{"content":"In 2024, Byte Masons announced a full rebrand and token migration from both OATH and the Granary Finance token (GRAIN) to a successor token called CDX under the Cod3x brand. Cod3x repositioned the ecosystem around AI-driven DeFi (termed DeFAI), allowing users to create on-chain financial agents without technical knowledge. The official migration window for legacy OATH and GRAIN tokens closed on October 29, 2024. Following the migration close, OATH tokens that were not migrated became effectively worthless and without project support. OATH holders who did not migrate in time retain tokens with no official backing, active development, or governance utility. The CDX token itself has also declined significantly from its all-time high of $0.2412 (February 19, 2025) and was trading near $0.037 as of mid-2026, representing approximately an 85% decline from peak.","heading":"Project Migration and Deprecation","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"COD3X Migration Portal","type":"official","url":"https://migrate.cod3x.org/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"CDX: The Cod3x Token (cod3x.org)","type":"official","url":"https://www.cod3x.org/cdx-the-cod3x-token/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Cod3x Monthly Community Newsletter: November 2024","type":"official","url":"https://www.cod3x.org/cod3x-monthly-community-newsletter-november-2024/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"How Are The Byte Masons Rebranding Their DeFi Ecosystem? Justin Bebis is the founder and CEO, having started the collective in mid-2020 without VC backing. Other known contributors include Samson (bitSAMSoN on social media) and additional pseudonymous developers. The team has given public interviews and podcast appearances, including with CertiK and Mission: DeFi. The team acknowledged in early 2023 communications that reductions in back-office staff led to decreased community communication, which they cited as an area requiring improvement. No criminal charges, regulatory actions, or SEC/CFTC enforcement actions involving Byte Masons or OATH have been identified. Community sentiment in 2022 was broadly positive, with multiple independent researchers publishing favorable ecosystem analyses. However, the near-total price collapse of OATH (99.98% from ATH), combined with a deprecated migration window that left non-migrating holders with worthless tokens, has generated residual community frustration. The project's communication gap acknowledged by the team in 2023 is consistent with community reports of reduced responsiveness. An alleged earlier concern (noted in community discussions) was that Justin Bebis and the team were perceived to be actively buying and promoting the OATH token publicly at a time when the price was declining, potentially giving the appearance of misleading marketing — though no formal finding on this matter has been identified in Tier 1 or Tier 2 sources. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
