Audit log

Every state-changing event for MoneyGram on Tempo: moderation decisions on community submissions, plus corrections and updates from the news pipeline. URL-based decisions are designed to carry three independent witnesses — the original source, an Internet Archive snapshot, and a Solana memo signed by our publicly-disclosed publisher key. Archive coverage is still being backfilled, so each decision below reports its own snapshot status rather than assuming one exists.

The Block reported the same day that MoneyGram was named 'Anchor Remittance Validator' and was one of Tempo's initial corporate validators alongside Stripe, Visa and Zodia Custody. The Block reported that Tempo launched its mainnet in mid-March 2026. The sources reviewed did not state the number of validators, staking or governance terms, or whether MoneyGram operates a validator node itself; these are unknown.","heading":"Role on Tempo","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Tempo: MoneyGram joins Tempo as first remittance validator and settlement partner","type":"official","url":"https://tempo.xyz/blog/moneygram-joins-tempo-as-first-remittance-validator-and-settlement-partner"},{"credibility":2,"name":"The Block: MoneyGram named 'anchor remittance validator' for Stripe-backed Tempo blockchain","type":"news_article","url":"https://theblock.co/post/402043/moneygram-remittance-validator-stripe-tempo-blockchain"}]},{"content":"According to Tempo, MoneyGram, Tempo and Stripe plan to bring stablecoin settlement into live flows, with Stripe settling to MoneyGram through Tempo onchain. Tempo describes the benefit as more efficient treasury operations. This is a plan described by the parties, and the reviewed sources do not describe consumer wallets, custody of customer balances on Tempo, or a consumer product on the chain. Exposure of consumer funds is therefore, on available information, indirect (via MoneyGram's settlement and treasury flows) and unquantified. Separately, in September 2025 outlets reported a MoneyGram USDC app in Colombia using Stellar for settlement and Crossmint for wallets; that is a different product and chain and is not part of the Tempo arrangement as announced.","heading":"Consumer-funds exposure","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Tempo: MoneyGram joins Tempo","type":"official","url":"https://tempo.xyz/blog/moneygram-joins-tempo-as-first-remittance-validator-and-settlement-partner"},{"credibility":2,"name":"The Block coverage","type":"news_article","url":"https://theblock.co/post/402043/moneygram-remittance-validator-stripe-tempo-blockchain"}]},{"content":"No regulatory action specific to the Tempo arrangement was found. For MoneyGram generally, the CFPB and the New York Attorney General sued MoneyGram in April 2022 in the Southern District of New York (Case No. 22-cv-3256), alleging violations of the Remittance Rule, the Consumer Financial Protection Act and the Electronic Fund Transfer Act; MoneyGram stated it considered the case without merit. In April 2025 the court granted the CFPB's consent motion to withdraw as plaintiff and approved a stipulation dismissing Counts I-VI, and the remaining claims were resolved by a stipulated final judgment with the New York Attorney General, entered without adjudication of any issue of fact or law. The final judgment's monetary terms could not be read from the document retrieved and are not stated here. Of note for operational-risk context, MoneyGram's systems went offline in September 2024; the company first called it a network outage and on 23 September said it had identified a cybersecurity issue affecting certain systems. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
