Audit log

Every state-changing event for FOMO Token: moderation decisions on community submissions, plus corrections and updates from the news pipeline. URL-based decisions are designed to carry three independent witnesses — the original source, an Internet Archive snapshot, and a Solana memo signed by our publicly-disclosed publisher key. Archive coverage is still being backfilled, so each decision below reports its own snapshot status rather than assuming one exists.

On June 10, 2024, the token's market capitalization collapsed from approximately $28 million to near zero within seconds. Community members and on-chain investigators reported that the project's deployer wallet withdrew over 250 million FOMO tokens from the GemPad launchpad contract — valued at approximately $10 million at the time — and sold them for approximately 157 ETH (roughly $574,000 at prevailing prices). Liquidity on Uniswap was simultaneously drained, causing the price to fall from approximately $0.05 to near zero. Following the collapse, all major communication channels — including the main Telegram group, a whale group, an NFT group, and the founder's personal X/Twitter account — were deleted. Individual investors reported losses in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.\n\nThe project's founder, who operated online under the handle 'Toshi,' subsequently claimed that project funds were lost in a December 2024 hack. A cryptoforensic investigator quoted by Byline Times stated this explanation 'makes no sense,' noting that the deployer wallet showed continued activity inconsistent with a compromised account.\n\nThe deployer dispersed approximately $25,000 in USDT across many wallets using FixedFloat, a cryptocurrency mixing service, which investigators noted is consistent with deliberate obfuscation of fund flows.\n\nIt is important to note that no criminal charges or civil judgments specifically related to the FOMO Network rug pull have been identified in verifiable court records as of this writing. The characterization of the event as a rug pull is based on on-chain data, community reports, and investigative journalism, not an adjudicated finding.","heading":"FOMO Network — Alleged Rug Pull (June 2024)","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":3,"name":"FOMO Network Crash: Potential Rugpull Event — The Holy Coins","type":"news_article","url":"https://theholycoins.com/news/the-fomo-network-fomo-coin-drops-after-a-rugpull-event"},{"credibility":3,"name":"The Fox on X — live rug thread with on-chain details","type":"social_media","url":"https://x.com/CryptoFoxDen/status/1800283834820198490"},{"credibility":3,"name":"Ashley Ward (Keable, Toshi) FOMO Network Scams documentation site","type":"community_report","url":"https://ashleywardscam.com/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"FOMO Network Token Tracker — Etherscan","type":"on_chain","url":"https://etherscan.io/token/0x9028c2a7f8c8530450549915c5338841db2a5fea"}]},{"content":"An October 2025 investigation by Byline Times identified the founder of FOMO Network as Ashley Ward, also known by his birth name Ashley Keable, and by the online alias 'Toshi.' The investigation reported that Ward carries two prior UK criminal fraud convictions: an earlier conviction for 15 eBay frauds involving jewelry and cameras, for which he received a 12-month custodial sentence (a judge described it as 'a carefully worked-out scam'), and a 2012 conviction for defrauding a photographer of £1,800 through a fraudulent camera sale. These convictions are a matter of public UK court record.\n\nByline Times further alleged that Ward co-founded Roo Coin in 2021, which investors also claimed experienced a rug pull, and that he sponsored Tommy Robinson's June 2024 Parliament Square protest and the September 2024 'Unite the Kingdom' rally in London.\n\nThese are allegations and investigative findings, not additional criminal convictions. The convictions for eBay fraud and the 2012 camera fraud are reported as established matters of public record by Byline Times; the characterizations of FOMO Network and Roo Coin as rug pulls are allegations that have not been adjudicated in a court of law as of this writing.\n\nFOMO Network formally shut down on May 16, 2026. In an announcement, Ward cited severe health deterioration, exhaustion of operating runway, and a family emergency. Neither operation is affiliated with any FOMO-named token, but they directly harm users who interact with FOMO-related content online.\n\n1. fomoo[.]family (typosquat): A fraudulent website documented by PCRisk on July 16, 2026 that adds an extra letter 'o' to the legitimate fomo.family domain. The site replicates the legitimate platform's visual design almost exactly but replaces the download call-to-action with a 'Connect wallet' button. Once a user connects a wallet, a cryptocurrency drainer activates and transfers funds to scammer-controlled addresses within seconds. The drainer is capable of identifying and prioritizing high-value assets.\n\n2. claim-fomo[.]family (fake airdrop): A separate phishing site documented by PCRisk on May 9, 2025 that impersonates fomo.family and implies users are eligible for an airdrop. Clicking 'Check Eligibility' prompts wallet connection and signs a malicious contract that executes automated fund transfers to scammer-controlled wallets.\n\nBoth operations distribute through compromised social media accounts on X and Telegram, malicious advertising networks, deceptive pop-up ads, and phishing emails. The company raised a $2 million pre-seed, a $17 million Series A led by Benchmark in November 2025, and a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures and Union Square Ventures in June 2026 at a reported $550 million valuation, bringing total disclosed funding to approximately $94 million. The ability to withdraw and liquidate 250 million tokens in a single transaction is a characteristic of projects where insider token concentration is not locked in a credibly immutable contract. The use of a mixing service (FixedFloat) after the liquidation is consistent with deliberate fund concealment.\n\n- Fomo Lab: Minimal holder count (approximately 285) and very low transaction volume on the Ethereum contract suggest limited liquidity and high concentration risk. The project delayed its TGE citing market conditions without providing detailed on-chain evidence of fund custody during the delay period.\n\n- FomoFi: Daily trading volume below $100 and no disclosed circulating supply are significant red flags for a token listed on CoinGecko. Extremely low liquidity renders the token vulnerable to price manipulation.\n\n- Solana FOMO meme token: No identifiable team, whitepaper, or verifiable project documentation. Consistent with the pattern of Solana meme coins issued via pump.fun or similar launchpads where the vast majority of tokens have no lasting value.\n\nResearchers at Blockfence have documented that scammers broadly exploit FOMO (the psychological phenomenon) to drive retail investment in fraudulent tokens, using fabricated lock mechanisms (such as PinkLock Finance) to create false impressions of liquidity security. While that report is not specific to any FOMO-named token, it is directly relevant to evaluating projects in this space.","heading":"Tokenomics and On-Chain Risk Signals (Across FOMO-Named Tokens)","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"How scammers used FOMO and misleading code to rug 42K victims — Blockfence / Bitget News","type":"research","url":"https://www.bitget.com/news/detail/12560603883893"},{"credibility":2,"name":"$32M Stolen: Over 1,300 Fake Tokens Rugged — Blockfence","type":"research","url":"https://blockfence.io/security/32m-stolen-over-1300-fake-tokens-rugged/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"FomoFi Price — CoinGecko","type":"other","url":"https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/fomofi"}]}],"sources_used":[{"credibility":3,"name":"FOMO Network Crash: Potential Rugpull Event — The Holy Coins","type":"news_article","url":"https://theholycoins.com/news/the-fomo-network-fomo-coin-drops-after-a-rugpull-event"},{"credibility":3,"name":"FOMO Network Shuts Down — The Holy Coins","type":"news_article","url":"https://theholycoins.com/news/fomo-network-shuts-down-after-founder-cites-health-and-family-concerns"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Tommy Robinson Rally Sponsored by Convicted Fraudster — Byline Times","type":"news_article","url":"https://bylinetimes.com/2025/10/01/tommy-robinsons-unite-the-kingdom-rally-was-sponsored-by-a-convicted-fraudster-allegedly-behind-cryptocurrency-rug-pulls/"},{"credibility":3,"name":"Ashley Ward (Keable, Toshi) Community Documentation","type":"community_report","url":"https://ashleywardscam.com/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Fake Fomo Trading Platform Scam — PCRisk","type":"research","url":"https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/35598-fake-fomo-trading-platform-scam"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Claim Fomo Scam — PCRisk","type":"research","url":"https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/32842-claim-fomo-scam"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Fake Fomo Trading Platform Scam — MalwareTips","type":"research","url":"https://malwaretips.com/blogs/fake-fomo-trading-platform-scam-how-fomoo-family-drains-connected-crypto-wallets/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"FOMO Network Token Tracker — Etherscan","type":"on_chain","url":"https://etherscan.io/token/0x9028c2a7f8c8530450549915c5338841db2a5fea"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Fomo Lab Token — Ethplorer","type":"on_chain","url":"https://ethplorer.io/address/0xb0cfb062de74f0410430a37305b878b7ad65903b"},{"credibility":1,"name":"FOMO (Solana) — Solscan","type":"on_chain","url":"https://solscan.io/token/ZxBon4vcf3DVcrt63fJU52ywYm9BKZC6YuXDhb3fomo"},{"credibility":2,"name":"FomoFi Price — CoinGecko","type":"other","url":"https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/fomofi"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Why Benchmark made a rare crypto bet on trading app Fomo — TechCrunch","type":"news_article","url":"https://techcrunch.com/2025/11/06/why-benchmark-made-a-rare-crypto-bet-on-trading-app-fomo-with-17m-series-a/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Index Ventures, Union Square Ventures back trading app Fomo at $550 million valuation — Fortune","type":"news_article","url":"https://fortune.com/2026/06/22/fomo-series-b-fundraise-index-ventures-union-square-ventures/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"$32M Stolen: Over 1,300 Fake Tokens Rugged — Blockfence","type":"research","url":"https://blockfence.io/security/32m-stolen-over-1300-fake-tokens-rugged/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Fomo Lab ICO details — ICO Drops","type":"research","url":"https://icodrops.com/fomo-lab/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Fomo (platform) — Wikipedia","type":"other","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fomo_(platform)"},{"credibility":3,"name":"Live FOMO rug thread — X / CryptoFoxDen","type":"social_media","url":"https://x.com/CryptoFoxDen/status/1800283834820198490"}],"summary":"The name 'FOMO Token' and ticker '$FOMO' are shared by numerous unrelated crypto projects across multiple blockchains, the most prominent being FOMO Network (Ethereum, ERC-20), Fomo Lab (Ethereum, ERC-20), FomoFi (BNB Chain), and several unnamed meme coins on Solana and other chains. How verification works. The “Row integrity” check above is computed in your browser — your machine recomputes the SHA-256 of the canonical bytes and compares against the stored hash. No avoid.net server can fake that check. The “full verify” link goes one level deeper: your browser fetches the on-chain transaction from a Solana RPC node and confirms the same hash is in the memo. If you don’t want to trust either avoid.net or the public RPC, run the CLI verifier on your own machine — python -m src.verify_decision <event_id>.
