Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The LGE raised more than $5 million USDC across seven chains (Ethereum, Fantom, Optimism, Metis, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Arbitrum), which Blockworks reported as a notable community-driven fundraise during the crypto bear market. The GRAIN token was structured to distribute 12.5% of total supply to LGE participants with optional vesting, and proceeds were designated to fund Granary V2 development and provide protocol-owned liquidity. The total supply is 800 million GRAIN, with a circulating supply of approximately 240 million. As of mid-2025, GRAIN trades at a near-total discount to its launch price: its reported all-time high was approximately $0.067, and by mid-2025 the token traded approximately 99.5% below that figure, with a 24-hour trading volume reported by CoinGecko of under $10. By mid-2025, DefiLlama reported the protocol's TVL at approximately $164,000, distributed across eight chains. This represents a decline of over 99.7% from peak. The extreme TVL collapse reflects a combination of factors: overall DeFi bear market conditions from 2022 onward, the protocol's decision to wind down v1 operations, low user retention after the Multichain bridge disruption, and the absence of a launched v2. Granary Finance's market cap was reported at approximately $80,000–$91,000 as of mid-2025, ranking in the 6,000+ range on CoinGecko. First, in June 2022, the Harmony Horizon Bridge was exploited for approximately $100 million by the North Korean Lazarus Group (subsequently confirmed by the FBI). Granary Finance, which had deployed on the Harmony chain, froze its markets promptly upon notification, preventing further deposits and borrows and allowing users time to exit. The team cited this rapid response as distinguishing it from other lending protocols on Harmony that suffered worse outcomes. Second, in July 2023, the Multichain bridge — the primary bridge for Fantom — suffered an exploit or insider rug pull that drained over $125 million. Granary Finance's team responded by freezing at-risk markets to protect user assets and prevent liquidation abuse. In both cases, there is no evidence that Granary Finance's own smart contracts were exploited. The bridge incidents were external and impacted Granary only as a downstream risk. No loss of user funds directly attributable to Granary protocol smart contracts was identified in available sources.","heading":"Incident Response: Harmony Bridge and Multichain Exploits","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"Harmony's Horizon Bridge Exploited for $100M — CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2022/06/24/harmony-networks-horizon-bridge-exploited-for-100m"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Multichain Bridges Exploited for $130M — CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/07/06/multichain-bridges-experience-unannounced-outflows-of-over-130m-in-crypto"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Granary v1 — A Retrospective — Granary Finance Medium","type":"other","url":"https://medium.com/@granarydefi/granary-v1-a-retrospective-5cbf05273f8a"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Multichain Exploit Analysis — Chainalysis","type":"research","url":"https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/multichain-exploit-july-2023/"}]},{"content":"In 2024, Byte Masons announced a strategic pivot and merger of its protocol ecosystem — including Granary Finance (GRAIN) and Oath (OATH) — into a new entity called Cod3x (CDX).
