Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The complaint alleges consumer protection violations under New York and California statutes, false advertising, and unjust enrichment. Plaintiffs allege the defendants fabricated the core technology: the complaint asserts that the AI investment agent marketed as fully autonomous was allegedly operated by humans, not AI — a claim first reported by crypto outlet Protos in October 2024 and cited within the court filing. Neither Andreessen Horowitz nor Marc Andreessen authorized these uses. On January 28, 2025, Chris Dixon, managing partner at a16z Crypto, publicly disclosed on the Unchained podcast that Andreessen Horowitz had formally demanded the project change its name because the firm 'was not connected with AI16Z.' A single X (Twitter) post by Marc Andreessen acknowledging the project in late 2024 caused its market cap to surge to approximately $80 million; the federal complaint alleges this organic endorsement was manufactured through deliberate brand confusion rather than any actual affiliation. Crypto outlet Protos reported in October 2024 — and the April 2026 federal complaint cites this reporting — that human operators, not autonomous AI, ran the agent. Shaw Walters himself walked back autonomy claims in a Decrypt interview, stating: 'You probably do not want to give an AI agent a bunch of money and expect it to make you more,' and framing agents as tools for human coordination rather than autonomous execution. The migration window ran from November 6, 2025 through February 4, 2026. The move expanded total token supply tenfold, from approximately 1.1 billion to 11 billion tokens. Holders who migrated received $ELIZAOS tokens at a 1:6 ratio; the remaining 4 tokens per 10 redenominated units (approximately 40% of the new supply) were allocated to what the project described as a 'Generative Treasury,' ecosystem development, team and contributors, liquidity, and the foundation. According to official tokenomics documentation, the breakdown of new supply was: 60% to existing holders, 15% future protocol, 10% team/contributors, 5.5% liquidity and listings, 4.5% foundation, 2.5% protocol liquidity, and 2.5% ecosystem development. The federal class action complaint characterizes the 40% retained by non-holder parties as insider dilution with 'no prior public disclosure.' Eliza Labs published a breakdown document titled 'The Breakdown: $ai16z → $elizaOS' on Paragraph that provided its rationale for the migration.
