Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The protocol provides core financial infrastructure primitives, including a fully decentralized, MEV-resistant on-chain order book, cross-chain bridging to Ethereum and other IBC-compatible chains, and a permissionless listing mechanism for derivatives and spot markets. The project was founded in 2018 by Eric Chen (CEO) and Albert Chon (CTO). Chen studied finance at NYU's Stern School of Business and began mining Bitcoin as early as 2012. Chon holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and previously worked as a software engineer at Amazon and a consultant at OpenZeppelin. Injective was incubated by Binance Labs beginning in 2018 and formally raised capital through multiple rounds before launching its mainnet in November 2021. The researcher reportedly submitted a report via Immunefi on November 30, 2025, describing a flaw in the MsgBatchUpdateOrders exchange module function that allegedly allowed any user to drain any account on the chain without requiring special permissions. The attack mechanism involved creating a worthless token paired with USDT, then coercing victim accounts to purchase the token at attacker-set prices, with funds subsequently bridged to Ethereum. According to the researcher, approximately $500 million in on-chain assets was at risk at the time of disclosure. Injective acknowledged the severity implicitly by submitting a network upgrade through governance voting that patched the flaw. However, al_f4lc0n alleged that Injective then went silent for approximately three months before offering a $50,000 bounty payment — well below the protocol's stated maximum of $500,000 for critical blockchain vulnerabilities — and, according to the researcher, had not paid even that reduced amount as of the time of disclosure. Injective has not issued a comprehensive public statement addressing the dispute. Cboe subsequently filed to list the product. In April 2026, CFTC-regulated INJ futures went live on the Bitnomial exchange, a development that Bitnomial noted could serve as a building block toward SEC approval of a spot ETF under generic listing standards. Additionally, Injective publicly warned users on X (formerly Twitter) not to participate in the INJS project, an unaffiliated token scheme that charged minting fees routed to unverified wallets. Impersonation accounts on social media platforms have also been observed, some messaging users directly while posing as team members or offering technical support. According to research cited in ecosystem reviews, the super-majority threshold of 33% voting power on the Injective network is reportedly controlled by as few as four validators, which creates a meaningful centralization risk in consensus and governance. Separately, on-chain analytics firm IntoTheBlock has reportedly identified a 94% concentration of INJ token holdings among whale addresses (those holding more than 1% of circulating supply) and large investors (more than 0.1%). Injective's governance uses a token-weighted voting model, meaning high concentration in large holders disproportionately influences protocol decisions. The Open DeFi Foundation launched a Foundation Delegation Program intended to broaden validator participation and mitigate centralization, though the effectiveness of this initiative has not been independently assessed in available sources. Token distribution at genesis allocated 20% to the founding team, 2% to advisors, 16.67% to private sale participants, and 6% to seed investors — all categories that were subject to vesting schedules, with team and advisor tokens fully vested by approximately January 2024.
