Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

Each rebranding was accompanied by a pivot in stated strategy. At the time of the Bitcoin treasury pivot, the company's CEO Henry K. Elder had joined from UTXO Management, a digital-asset advisory firm also associated with The Smarter Web Company — a competing UK-listed Bitcoin treasury vehicle — raising investor concerns about potential conflicts of interest and what some described as 'market cannibalism.' Notably, approximately £96.9 million ($130.6 million) of the raise was accepted in the form of 1,097 BTC contributed in-kind by investors, rather than all cash. By April 2026 the shares had fallen more than 99% and were trading below a penny; by the time of the general meeting in July 2026 the price stood at approximately 0.22 pence. The collapse was driven by multiple factors: Bitcoin's price declined sharply from its 2025 highs, eroding the treasury's value; the convertible loan notes that matured on 31 December 2025 required redemption at a time when the BTC price was significantly below the company's average acquisition cost; and the company burned through additional capital in overhead and executive costs that investors later described as an 'unsustainable cost base.' In December 2025 Satsuma was forced to sell 579 BTC for approximately £40 million to fund the CLN redemptions — realising a loss — spending approximately £78.2 million redeeming the loan notes, according to its final audited results. The FCA engaged in correspondence with the company in December 2025, the nature of which was not publicly disclosed in detail; the board responded by appointing Clive Carver in a temporary executive role 'principally to support the company's ongoing compliance with its continuing obligations as a listed company in light of the Financial Conduct Authority's correspondence.'","heading":"Share Price Collapse and Early Warning Signs","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Satsuma's Bitcoin Treasury Collapses, Leaving Shareholders 18p on the Pound — Yahoo Finance","type":"news_article","url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/satsuma-bitcoin-treasury-collapses-leaving-121705285.html"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Pantera wants Satsuma to dump its bitcoin as shares crash 99% — CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/04/23/pantera-wants-satsuma-to-dump-its-bitcoin-as-shares-crash-99"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Final Audited Results — Investegate (official RNS)","type":"official","url":"https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/satsuma-technology-plc--sats/final-audited-results-/9778436"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Latham Advises Satsuma Technology on Proposed ESCC Listing — Latham & Watkins","type":"official","url":"https://www.lw.com/en/news/2025/12/Latham%20Advises%20Satsuma%20Technology%20on%20Proposed%20ESCC%20Listing"}]},{"content":"Two senior executives departed in quick succession in early 2026. No criminal charges, fraud allegations, or regulatory enforcement actions have been reported in connection with the company or its officers as of the date of this investigation.
