Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

Dubai Police, operating under the UAE Ministry of Interior, led the arrests and took 275 suspects into custody; Thai police separately arrested one additional figure. The FBI's San Diego field office, which opened the underlying investigation in 2025 through leads generated via the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), worked with Dubai Police and China's Ministry of Public Security. Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of California charged four named individuals -- Thet Min Nyi (also known as 'Ko Thet' or 'Pixy'), a Burmese national, and Indonesian nationals Wiliang Awang, Andreas Chandra, and Lisa Mariam -- with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering; two further co-conspirators were reported to remain at large. The defendants allegedly recruited and oversaw scam-center staff operating under three front companies: Ko Thet Company, Sanduo Group, and Giant Company. Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva and U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon issued public statements framing the action as evidence that 'global crime now faces global justice.' Secondary coverage shows some inconsistency in exact defendant counts across outlets, so the specific tally of individuals formally charged in San Diego (as opposed to arrested abroad) should be treated as not fully settled pending the underlying DOJ release.","heading":"April 2026 FBI-Dubai-China Arrest Sweep (276 arrests, nine scam centers)","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"The Block: FBI leads arrests of 276 in global crypto 'pig butchering' scams","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/399515/fbi-task-force-arrests-276-crypto-scams"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Crowdfund Insider: International Crackdown on Crypto 'Pig Butchering' Scams Leads to 276 Arrests","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2026/04/276518-international-crackdown-on-crypto-pig-butchering-scams-leads-to-276-arrests/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Security Boulevard: FBI and International Agencies Shut Down Scam Centers, Arrest 276 People","type":"news_article","url":"https://securityboulevard.com/2026/04/fbi-and-international-agencies-shut-down-scam-centers-arrest-276-people/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Coin Edition: Global Scam Center Crackdown Nets 276 Arrests, DOJ Files Charges","type":"news_article","url":"https://coinedition.com/global-scam-center-crackdown-nets-276-arrests-doj-files-charges/"}]},{"content":"On April 23, 2026, the Department of Justice announced charges against two Chinese nationals, Huang Xingshan and Jiang Wen Jie, who allegedly managed the Shunda cryptocurrency investment-fraud compound in Burma (Myanmar) and had attempted to open a second compound in Cambodia. As part of the same action, U.S. authorities seized 503 fake investment websites used to lure victims into fraudulent crypto trading platforms. The DOJ stated that, collectively, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, the department's Criminal Division, and partner agencies had identified and restrained more than $701,962,392.15 in cryptocurrency allegedly tied to the laundering of scam proceeds -- the figure widely reported in the press as 'more than $700 million' or '$701 million.' This action was carried out under the Scam Center Strike Force, an interagency unit combining the U.S. Attorney's Office for D.C., the DOJ Criminal Division, the FBI, and the U.S. Secret Service that was announced in November 2025 to target Chinese-linked crypto investment-fraud networks operating from Southeast Asia. The Strike Force had reported recovering roughly $402 million in digital assets by January 2026 and approximately $580 million by late February 2026, indicating the $700 million-plus figure represents a cumulative total built up over several months rather than a single seizure event.","heading":"DOJ Scam Center Strike Force: Over $700 Million in Crypto Restrained","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Money Laundering News: Scam Center Strike Force Targets Southeast Asian Scam Centers","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.moneylaunderingnews.com/2026/05/scam-center-strike-force-targets-southeast-asian-scam-centers/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"SC World: Over $700M in crypto, dozens of fake investment sites seized in major US clampdown on Southeast Asian scam centers","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.scworld.com/brief/over-700m-in-crypto-dozens-of-fake-investment-sites-seized-in-major-us-clampdown-on-southeast-asian-scam-centers"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Crypto Briefing: US DOJ strike force seizes $580M in crypto from pig butchering scams","type":"news_article","url":"https://cryptobriefing.com/crypto-asset-seizures-from-pig-butchering-scams/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Decrypt: DOJ, FBI, Secret Service Unveil 'Strike Force' to Combat Crypto Scams Rooted in China","type":"news_article","url":"https://decrypt.co/348333/doj-fbi-secret-service-unveil-strike-force-combat-crypto-scams-china"}]},{"content":"The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina announced the seizure of more than $61 million in Tether (USDT) tied to pig-butchering investment scams, in an action reported in late February 2026. Tether cooperated with law enforcement to facilitate the transfer and freeze of the relevant balances, and the DOJ publicly thanked the company for its assistance. The seized funds are proceeding through federal asset forfeiture, which officials said could allow partial recovery for victims. An indictment unsealed in the Eastern District of New York charged the group's founder and chairman, Chen Zhi (also known as 'Vincent'), with wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy; prosecutors allege Prince Group operated forced-labor compounds in Cambodia where trafficked workers were coerced into running pig-butchering scams. A separate secondary summary attributes to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) 2025 annual report 61,559 cryptocurrency investment-fraud complaints with $7.228 billion in losses, described as the largest single category of financial loss to Americans that year; this narrower figure likely corresponds specifically to 'investment fraud' (the IC3 category that includes pig butchering) rather than all crypto-related fraud. A $1.14 billion figure specific to pig-butchering losses in 2025, as sometimes cited in secondary commentary, could not be verified against any primary FBI, IC3, Chainalysis, or DOJ source found in this research and should not be treated as confirmed; it may be a transposition or rounding of the $11.3-11.4 billion total crypto-fraud figure. The Irrawaddy reported that the original KK Park compound in Myawaddy, Myanmar -- once containing more than 630 buildings -- was demolished following joint crackdowns, but that operations appear to have shifted roughly five kilometers away to a new site activists have dubbed 'KK Park 2.0,' which was reportedly under rapid expansion as of an April 2026 report; this specific relocation claim traces to a Malaysian activist and has not been independently verified. A separate Associated Press analysis, as summarized by a U.S. local-news outlet, found that of a sample of scam compounds examined, a majority -- 14 of those tracked -- showed construction or expansion activity since January, despite a reported release of more than 7,000 scam-center workers as part of an earlier purge, according to figures attributed to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Reports from DVB in mid-2026 described renewed demolition campaigns by Myanmar junta-aligned forces after a two-month pause, with remaining operators reportedly fleeing deeper into Myanmar or into territory controlled by Border Guard Force units. Some observers and local residents have characterized earlier high-profile junta raids as stage-managed for publicity rather than effective in permanently closing the compounds; this characterization is attributed to unnamed local sources and should be treated as a disputed, low-confidence claim.","heading":"Surviving Networks: Scam Compounds Relocate Rather Than
