Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

However, several specific figures are either mischaracterized or simply wrong: the page falsely claims the arXiv paper does not break out OKX NFT Aggregator's individual loss, when the paper's own table puts that figure at roughly $14,000 (not a meaningful share of the $6.9M headline number, which is dominated by an unrelated protocol); the Trustpilot rating (2.2/5) matches neither the cited source (which says 2.9/5) nor live Trustpilot data (1.9/5); the Bitcoin Ordinals 'first multi-chain platform' claim is dated to December 2023 when the actual announcement was April 2023; the ZachXBT/RAVE funding claim is dated '2025' when the cited source itself dates the event to 2026; and the claim that Malta's regulator 'initiated a review... under MiCA Article 64' overstates what was, per independent reporting, unconfirmed speculation that Malta explicitly declined to act on at the time. Four cited URLs are dead (one OKX help-center page and three secondary news sources, two of which are the same coinpedia.org article cited twice), all with live replacements identified except the OKX page, which already has a working archive snapshot.
