Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

However, the review surfaced several secondary accuracy problems: the page calls BlockWatchdog a 'blockchain intelligence firm' when every independently checked source calls it a 'blockchain investigator,' overstating its institutional standing (claim_findings[2]); the page attributes a ChangeNOW fund freeze to an entity called 'Specter Investigations' that appears in none of its cited sources and may be an invented or upgraded name for an individual analyst referred to elsewhere only as 'Specter' (claim_findings[5]); the page cites a source for 'Node Capital' as an investor that does not actually mention Node Capital (claim_findings[9]); and the page's $8.07M loss figure, while internally consistent with its own sources, is not reconciled against a cluster of outlets reporting $7.9M (claim_findings[12]). None of these affect the core allegation against Bridgers, but together they warrant correction before the page is treated as fully settled. Note: the reviewer's summary block undercounts findings (12 claims / 7 confirmed) versus the 13 entries actually present in claim_findings (8 confirmed); this verdict is based on the authoritative 13-entry array, under which disputed+unverifiable claims are roughly 15% of total, consistent with the reviewer's own reported disputed_pct of 0.17 and squarely in the minor-issues band.","score_delta":-10,"sequence_num":3,"submission_content_hash":null,"submission_id":null,"submission_kind":null,"submission_valence":null,"v":1}
