Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The protocol uses palm biometrics — specifically non-invasive palm print and palm vein scanning — combined with zero-knowledge proofs and self-sovereign identity frameworks to assign each verified user a 'Human ID.' The project positions itself as a Sybil-resistant alternative to Worldcoin and other biometric identity systems, branding its verification mechanism as 'Proof of Trust.' Its native token, $H, launched in June 2025. The project accumulated over 9 million registered wallet IDs during its testnet phase, though founder Terence Kwok later acknowledged in a leaked communication that as many as 88% of those identities could be bots — a significant credibility issue for a network whose stated purpose is preventing bot activity. The attack was technically a private key theft rather than a smart contract exploit. According to the project's post-mortem, a single malware-infected developer machine stored backups of seven private keys: an admin hot wallet key, three Ethereum Gnosis Safe owner keys, and three BNB Smart Chain Gnosis Safe owner keys. Gaining access to these keys gave the attacker unilateral control over Humanity Protocol's bridge infrastructure on both Ethereum and BNB Chain. On Ethereum, the attacker drained approximately 141 million $H tokens by executing a malicious contract upgrade via the compromised Safe signers. On BNB Chain, three separate mint transactions of 100 million H each — using the compromised ProxyAdmin — inflated the circulating supply from roughly 141 million to 441 million H tokens. These unauthorized tokens and drained holdings were dumped across decentralized exchanges including Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and Kyber Network. The total impact was estimated at approximately 447 million $H tokens, with reported dollar losses ranging from $31 million to $36 million depending on the price at time of liquidation. The H token fell from approximately $0.67-0.85 to as low as $0.05 intraday, a decline of up to 90% from its all-time high set in early June 2026. As of the post-mortem, the BNB Chain token contract's ProxyAdmin remained under attacker control, constituting an ongoing security risk.","heading":"The June 2026 Exploit: Private Key Compromise","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":1,"name":"Humanity Protocol token crashes more than 80% after a $32 million private-key hack - CoinDesk","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2026/06/09/humanity-protocol-token-crashes-more-than-80-after-a-usd32-million-private-key-hack"},{"credibility":2,"name":"One Laptop, $36 Million, and a Token Collapse: Inside the Humanity Protocol Exploit - CryptoTimes","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2026/06/10/one-laptop-36-million-and-a-token-collapse-inside-the-humanity-protocol-exploit/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Humanity Protocol Traces $36M Hack to Single Malware-Infected Machine That Held Seven Keys - The Defiant","type":"news_article","url":"https://thedefiant.io/news/hacks/humanity-protocol-post-mortem-malware-developer-machine-seven-keys"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Humanity Protocol says attacker stole seven keys from one device - Crypto.news","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/humanity-protocol-says-attacker-stole-seven-keys-from-one-device/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Wallets linked to Humanity Protocol drained for over $32 million - The Block","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.theblock.co/post/404053/humanity-protocol-exploit"}]},{"content":"Hours after Humanity Protocol disclosed the exploit, on-chain investigator ZachXBT publicly alleged that the incident appeared 'possibly staged.' In posts on social media, ZachXBT wrote: 'The incident seems possibly staged. I am not buying the team's story. It's a convenient way for the active MM [market maker] to have exited.' He further accused the team of orchestrating a 'crime pump' — artificially inflating the token price in the weeks before the hack with 'zero fundamentals' — and demanded the project 'Disclose your active MM agreements with the HK entity first.' ZachXBT alleged that a Hong Kong-based market-maker entity had been running coordinated token price inflation and then used the hack narrative as cover for an exit. He noted that all stolen H tokens were sold exclusively through decentralized exchanges such as Kyber Network and PancakeSwap rather than through a mix of centralized and decentralized venues, which he characterized as unusual for a genuine external attacker. Independent on-chain analyst Elton published a supporting analysis identifying what he described as premeditation indicators: attacker wallets were created and funded weeks in advance via exchanges and mixers in April and May 2026, and the minting authority appeared to have been 'warmed up' with test transactions days before the June 8-9 exploit. Elton stated the pattern was 'consistent with a potentially planned, coordinated operation rather than a lone opportunist,' though he acknowledged the evidence was also 'consistent with either an insider or an outside actor who had quietly held the compromised key for some time.' ZachXBT subsequently updated his assessment, concluding that the private key compromise itself appeared substantiated by subsequent laundering evidence, and that the exploit and the alleged pre-hack price manipulation should be viewed as 'two separate and independent events.' He maintained skepticism about H token trading behavior in the weeks prior to the breach, including its relationship to the June 25, 2026 token unlock schedule. No independent forensic report from a third-party security firm had been publicly released as of mid-June 2026.","heading":"ZachXBT's Staged Hack Allegation","severity":"critical","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"ZachXBT Calls $32M Humanity Protocol Hack 'Possibly Staged,' $H Crashes 86% - CryptoTimes","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2026/06/09/zachxbt-calls-32m-humanity-protocol-hack-possibly-staged-h-crashes-86/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"ZachXBT Says Humanity Crypto $32M Hack Looks 'Possibly Staged' - Tokenist","type":"news_article","url":"https://tokenist.com/zachxbt-humanity-crypto-protocol-hack-crypto-etf-risk/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"ZachXBT rules out insider theft in Humanity Protocol's $31M exploit - Crypto.news","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/zachxbt-rules-out-insider-theft-in-humanity-protocols-31m-exploit/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Is Humanity Protocol's $32M Hack an Exit Scam? The company collapsed by 2019 following what the Financial Times and others described as unsustainable aggressive expansion and a deteriorating business model as hotel roaming costs declined. By July 2019, staff reportedly left the Oxford Street office in protest over unpaid wages, and by August 2019 the company ceased operations. In January 2020, a European court ordered Tink Labs' winding up and appointed a liquidator. Blockchain investigator Specter published an analysis in June 2025 identifying alleged problematic histories among three of Humanity Protocol's four named team leads. Regarding Mario Nawfal, who serves as a founding director of the Humanity Foundation board, Specter alleged a history of wage-withholding accusations, a fine imposed on his Froothie project in Australia for false advertising, a lawsuit from Juicero, alleged invoice manipulation during his tenure at NFT Tech, and controversial BitClout token trading activity. Regarding Yat Siu, an angel investor in the project, Specter noted that Siu's company was delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange. Seven distinct private keys — including multiple multisig co-signers on both Ethereum and BNB Chain — were stored as backups on a single developer machine, which was subsequently compromised by malware. This arrangement nullified the intended security benefit of multisig governance: a 3-of-6 Gnosis Safe on Ethereum and a 3-of-5 Safe on BNB Chain were both defeated because multiple co-signers' keys resided on the same infected device. The attacker gained root access and extracted all seven keys from a single point of compromise. The post-mortem noted that the keys had been inadvertently backed up to the device during Humanity Protocol's mainnet launch in June 2025 and were never subsequently removed. The project's H token fell as much as 90% from its all-time high, wiping over $1 billion in market capitalization, and the BNB Chain token contract remained under attacker control as of mid-June 2026.","timeline":[{"date":"2023-01-01","event":"Humanity Protocol founded in Hong Kong by Terence Kwok","source":"Tracxn / Crunchbase company profiles","source_url":"https://tracxn.com/d/companies/humanity-protocol/__jZSwhQa9wmx0oZd0fKdc2Xdw3LiSSxI2VRwC5HGm8HI"},{"date":"2024-02-20","event":"Humanity Protocol publicly announced after emerging from stealth","source":"Biometric Update","source_url":"https://www.biometricupdate.com/202405/palm-scanning-humanity-protocol-emerges-as-new-kid-on-the-blockchain"},{"date":"2024-05-15","event":"$30 million seed round closed led by Kingsway Capital, with Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, and Sandeep Nailwal participating","source":"Tracxn funding records","source_url":"https://tracxn.com/d/companies/humanity-protocol/__jZSwhQa9wmx0oZd0fKdc2Xdw3LiSSxI2VRwC5HGm8HI/funding-and-investors"},{"date":"2025-01-27","event":"$20 million seed round closed led by Pantera Capital and Jump Crypto;
