Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

According to Gate.com's explainer, the exchange was launched in 2024 by a developer known by the pseudonym '24dollars.' The protocol reports substantial trading activity: CertiK's Skynet listing records $13.2 billion in all-time trading volume, and industry commentary describes Shadow as the dominant DEX on Sonic by market share. The platform's smart contracts are described as forked from Solidly and enhanced by Ramses V3 Core code, and are stated to be audited, though specific audit firms and full reports are not widely published.","heading":"Overview and Operations","severity":"low","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Gate.com — What Is Shadow Exchange? The rest of the development team is reported to be anonymous. Secondary reporting states that the team is incorporated in Panama, a jurisdiction commonly used by decentralized finance projects but one that limits legal accountability and makes it difficult for users to identify who is actually responsible for the protocol or to pursue recourse if something goes wrong. This structure is common among DEXs and is not by itself evidence of wrongdoing, but it is a material transparency gap that users should weigh, particularly given the lack of traditional corporate registration details or KYC on the team.","heading":"Anonymous Team and Jurisdictional Opacity","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CertiK Skynet — Shadow Exchange Security Score","type":"research","url":"https://skynet.certik.com/projects/shadow-exchange"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Gate.com — What Is Shadow Exchange? CertiK's own breakdown flags Code Security as the weakest component of the score (45%) and notes the absence of a live bug bounty program with CertiK or other third-party providers, alongside no completed CertiK KYC verification of the team. These gaps mean that while the protocol has processed large trading volumes without a disclosed exploit, independent verification of its security posture remains incomplete.","heading":"Audit and Security Transparency","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CertiK Skynet — Shadow Exchange Security Score","type":"research","url":"https://skynet.certik.com/projects/shadow-exchange"}]},{"content":"The protocol's native token, SHADOW, reached an all-time high of $215.63 before falling to approximately $1.17, a decline of roughly 99.5%, according to CoinGecko pricing data. Max supply is capped at 10 million tokens, with weekly emissions that reportedly began at 50,000 SHADOW per week and decay by 1% weekly. Early withdrawal from the protocol's vote-escrowed token, xSHADOW, before a 180-day vesting period carries a penalty of up to 50% of the underlying SHADOW, a tokenomics design feature rather than an indication of a technical failure or exit scam. No evidence was found of a hack, insider dump, or exit scam explaining the decline; it is consistent with broader patterns seen in emissions-heavy DeFi tokens following initial exchange listings and hype cycles. Nonetheless, the magnitude of the drawdown is a significant risk factor for token holders.","heading":"SHADOW Token Price Decline","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CoinGecko — Shadow (SHADOW) price data","type":"on_chain","url":"https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/shadow-2"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Gate.com — What Is Shadow Exchange?
