Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The contract failed to verify which IBC channel an incoming deposit packet arrived through; it matched only the token denomination name against an approved list, not the source channel or connection path. An attacker exploited this by spinning up a custom single-validator Cosmos SDK chain, opening a new IBC channel directly to the vulnerable contract, and transmitting forged ICS-20 deposit packets. This allowed the unbacked minting of wrapped saTokens on Secret Network, which were subsequently redeemed for legitimate bridged assets through the authorized Axelar IBC channel, draining the escrow. The primary victim contract identified by investigators is secret1yxjmepvyl2c25vnt53cr2dpn8amknwausxee83, one of the verified gateways for channels 60 and 61 on the axelar-dojo-1 connection. Related contracts secret1nvytjz7t5wakf0ra5y47dfenatwxpggmkwc5ru and secret1e2lwttdwnpxpg6hudplfl54pdx4404nm54mj8r were also identified. Secret Network's privacy-by-default architecture, which encrypts transaction details and balances at the protocol level via confidential computing, meant that anomalous minting activity was not visible in standard on-chain monitoring. Axelar reportedly discovered the discrepancy only when a routine cross-chain transfer failed because the escrow account no longer held sufficient tokens. Investigators then traced the shortfall to seven anomalous transactions dated June 10, 2026. The combination of an unverified IBC channel and encrypted on-chain state is cited across multiple sources as the primary reason the exploit persisted undetected for nearly a week.","heading":"Detection Delay and Privacy Obfuscation","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"$4.67M Exploit Hits Axelar-Secret Network Bridge, Links Disabled","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.cryptotimes.io/2026/06/19/4-67m-exploit-hits-axelar-secret-network-bridge-links-disabled/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Axelar shuts down Secret Network bridge routes after $4.7M exploit","type":"news_article","url":"https://crypto.news/axelar-shuts-down-secret-network-bridge-routes-after-4-7m-exploit/"}]},{"content":"Following the exploit, the attacker routed stolen assets through Osmosis, a Cosmos-ecosystem decentralized exchange, then bridged them to Ethereum.
