Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

The protocol uses a two-token model: ACME, the native token, and Credits, which are generated by burning ACME. The project claims support for up to 70,000 transactions per second via an interconnected network of chains. Accumulate originated from the Factom blockchain, founded in Austin, Texas in 2014 by Paul Snow and David Johnston. In November 2021, Factom Authority Node Operators voted unanimously to rebrand and upgrade the Factom protocol to Accumulate. Mainnet launched October 31, 2022. The Factom Inc. corporate entity — distinct from the protocol — entered dissolution proceedings in April 2020 after investors declined to provide additional funding following years of inability to close a Series B round. Inveniam Capital Partners subsequently acquired Factom's 40+ blockchain patents and key engineers Paul Snow and Jay Smith in 2021, forming the DeFi Devs subsidiary as a developer community for Accumulate-related projects.","heading":"Protocol Overview and History","severity":"medium","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Accumulate Network Official Site","type":"official","url":"https://accumulatenetwork.io/"},{"credibility":1,"name":"Factom Inc. At the time of the assessment, the network operated as a hybrid proof-of-stake/proof-of-authority chain rather than a fully implemented Delegated Proof of Stake system, with whitelisted validators holding equal weight. LlamaRisk found that two entities — DeFi Devs and the Accumulate Foundation — controlled sufficient stake to meet the 2/3 consensus threshold needed to validate transactions, which the report described as 'a concerning level of centralization.' The Accumulated Finance platform, which issues the stACME liquid staking token, is controlled by a 2-of-3 multisig held by Paul Snow (Accumulate Chief Scientist), Anton Ilzheev, and Ethan Reesor. The WACME bridge is operated by De Facto, HighStakes LLC, and Kompendium under a 2-of-3 multisig arrangement. The LlamaRisk report noted that with 2/3 malicious validators in any Block Validator Network, that network could attack the entire system. True DPoS with slashing was originally planned for May 2023; the current implementation status of that upgrade is not independently verified as of this investigation.","heading":"Centralization and Governance Risks","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Asset Risk Assessment: Accumulated Finance (stACME) - LlamaRisk","type":"research","url":"https://llamarisk.substack.com/p/asset-risk-assessment-accumulated"}]},{"content":"ACME has experienced a sustained decline in market activity. Multiple price-tracking platforms including CoinGecko list the token as having no recorded trading volume for extended periods, with CoinGecko classifying it as having no activity on exchanges it tracks. CoinCarp and other trackers report an effectively zero current price. The all-time high for ACME was reported at approximately $0.257, with a later recorded high of $0.0863 in December 2022 shortly after mainnet launch. As of tracking data available in 2026, the token appears to have minimal to no secondary market liquidity. The LlamaRisk assessment further noted that at the time of publication, only approximately 128 ACME transactions occurred daily despite the network having operated for six months, and WACME adoption on Ethereum remained 'very low.' The token is not available on major centralized exchanges, and over-the-counter trading carries additional counterparty risk per exchange disclosures. Minimal market liquidity is a significant risk factor for holders attempting to exit positions.","heading":"Token Market Status and Liquidity Risk","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Accumulate Price: ACME Live Price Chart, Market Cap & News Today - CoinGecko","type":"other","url":"https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/accumulate"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Accumulate price now, Live ACME price, marketcap, chart, and info - CoinCarp","type":"other","url":"https://www.coincarp.com/currencies/accumulate/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Asset Risk Assessment: Accumulated Finance (stACME) - LlamaRisk","type":"research","url":"https://llamarisk.substack.com/p/asset-risk-assessment-accumulated"}]},{"content":"The Accumulate Ethereum bridge allows users to wrap ACME as WACME, an ERC-20 token usable in DeFi applications including Uniswap and Curve. A bridge audit was conducted by FairyProof in September 2022 with no critical issues reported. However, the LlamaRisk assessment identified that bridge private keys are stored in local configuration files, which it characterized as 'a great risk' to WACME holders if those keys were compromised. The Accumulated Finance smart contracts (which issue stACME) were reported as unaudited at the time of the LlamaRisk assessment, though LlamaRisk noted the contracts were forked from previously audited projects. The bridge requires ACME to be locked on the Accumulate network before WACME is issued on Ethereum; if the underlying ACME were stolen or the bridge compromised, WACME holders could lose their funds. A 20% fee is applied to staking rewards, and fee distribution was described as a manual process, creating an operational trust dependency on the multisig holders.","heading":"Bridge and Smart Contract Security","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"Asset Risk Assessment: Accumulated Finance (stACME) - LlamaRisk","type":"research","url":"https://llamarisk.substack.com/p/asset-risk-assessment-accumulated"},{"credibility":2,"name":"How to convert ACME to WACME - Accumulate Docs","type":"official","url":"https://docs.accumulatenetwork.io/accumulate/tutorials/bridge/how-to-use-the-accumulate-ethereum-bridge"}]},{"content":"At the time of the LlamaRisk risk assessment, users who staked ACME via Accumulated Finance were unable to withdraw their staked ACME directly from the protocol. Exit liquidity was entirely dependent on Curve pool depth and associated slippage, meaning users who wished to exit staking positions were reliant on secondary market liquidity rather than protocol-level redemption. Given that trading volume for both ACME and WACME has been reported as extremely low, this creates a meaningful risk that stakers could be unable to liquidate positions without significant price impact or loss. Inveniam Capital Partners, the parent organization backing development through DeFi Devs, made additional acquisitions in 2025 including Swarm Markets (December 2025) and Storj (October 2025), suggesting the corporate parent remains active. However, the near-zero token trading volume, CoinGecko's classification of ACME as inactive, and LlamaRisk's earlier observations of only 128 daily transactions indicate that active user adoption remains extremely limited.
