Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

Identified examples include fiffa.com, jobs-fifa.com, fifa.cab, fifa.pink, fifa.blue, fifa.pub, fifa-ticket.live, fifaworldcup26.sale, and worldcup2026-tickets.com.mx. CybelAngel researchers attributed the dominant ticketing-fraud cluster to a threat actor tracked as 'Ghost Stadium,' described as a Chinese-speaking, financially motivated group first observed in November 2025. Ghost Stadium is alleged to operate a custom React-based phishing kit supporting 11 languages that replicates FIFA's authentication system including a genuine client ID copied from the live site. As of June 9, 2026, the group had 125 live domains, with 146 of its total domains using Cloudflare nameservers. The domain fifa.city was separately identified as having operated since approximately 2019. Since August 2025, researchers attribute more than 4,300 fraudulent FIFA-branded domains to this and related actors. The first, operating on the Polygon network, received approximately $1,562 in a single transaction on April 1, 2026. The second operates via Bitcoin and had not yet recorded conversions as of TRM's publication but maintained a live phishing site. TRM Labs traced funds from the Polygon ticketing-scam address through a series of cross-chain swaps to the TRON network, consistent with techniques used to obscure the origin of illicit cryptocurrency proceeds. Group-IB estimated ticket fraud losses in the range of $71 million to $474 million when accounting for premium pricing across fraudulent resale operations. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued an advisory on June 3, 2026 specifically identifying cryptocurrency payment requests as a primary red flag: 'Be cautious of sellers requesting payment through cryptocurrency, wire transfer, peer-to-peer payment apps, gift cards, or other methods that are difficult to reverse.' The scheme involves operators contacting prospective victims and claiming to possess insider knowledge of pre-arranged match outcomes, then demanding upfront cryptocurrency payments in exchange for alleged guaranteed betting tips. Payments from this address were routed to custodial exchange accounts rather than self-hosted wallets, a pattern consistent with rapid liquidation. TRM noted that confirmed losses across all documented World Cup-related crypto scam addresses totaled approximately $1,700 as of their mid-June 2026 report, though this figure reflects only the addresses directly identified and not the broader fraud ecosystem. CybelAngel separately identified 87 indicators of compromise tied to betting and gambling fraud infrastructure, including a fraudulent platform at the domain 2026.com that used fabricated 'official regional partner' badges, operated Telegram channels for deposit-driven monetization, and distributed a companion app called '2026 Sports' that profiles devices and uses non-standard communication channels.","heading":"Fixed-Match Betting Schemes","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"TRM Labs — Tracking Crypto Scammers Ahead of the 2026 World Cup","type":"research","url":"https://www.trmlabs.com/resources/blog/tracking-crypto-scammers-ahead-of-the-2026-world-cup"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Bitcoinist — TRM Warns Crypto Scammers Are Seeding World Cup 2026 Ticket And Betting Traps","type":"news_article","url":"https://bitcoinist.com/trm-world-cup-2026-crypto-scams-ticket-betting/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"CybelAngel — FIFA World Cup 2026 Fraud Threat Report","type":"research","url":"https://cybelangel.com/blog/our-investigation-of-fifa-world-cup-2026-fraud-threat-report/"}]},{"content":"TRM Labs documented multiple fan-branded cryptocurrency tokens being marketed in connection with the 2026 World Cup, characterizing them as potential pump-and-dump vehicles. The most extensively documented case involves the token World Cup PvP (ticker: WCUP), which launched on June 10, 2026 and reached a peak market capitalization of approximately $50 million within its first day, after promotion by multiple cryptocurrency influencers on X (formerly Twitter). On-chain analytics firm Bubblemaps alleged that 95% of WCUP's circulating supply was acquired by more than 30 newly created wallets within approximately one minute of the token's launch. These wallets were allegedly funded from a centralized exchange roughly 30 minutes before launch, then used to snipe the supply at the moment of token creation. The alleged insider group then distributed holdings across more than 2,500 new wallets using Uniswap Router transactions in an apparent attempt to obscure the concentration. Bubblemaps reported that most influencers who promoted WCUP did not disclose payment arrangements to their followers. The token had approximately $536,000 in liquidity at time of reporting, which Bubblemaps noted would be insufficient to absorb a coordinated sell-off by early holders. TRM Labs also flagged a separate token called WORLDCUP listed on the LBank exchange, warning that such tokens lack official affiliation with FIFA and carry elevated risk of total loss. Separately, Malwarebytes documented websites marketing tokens as 'the official community token celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026,' advertising features including a 'Mega Airdrop,' a 7-billion-token total supply, and a participant counter set to the symbolic number 48 matching the tournament's team count. FIFA has not officially issued or endorsed any cryptocurrency token.","heading":"Fan Meme Coins and Pump-and-Dump Token Schemes","severity":"high","sources":[{"credibility":2,"name":"CryptoNews.net — 95% of World Cup Token WCUP Supply Pre-Purchased by Single Group, Bubblemaps Alleges","type":"on_chain","url":"https://cryptonews.net/news/altcoins/33000264/"},{"credibility":2,"name":"KuCoin News — FIFA World Cup Token WCUP Suspected of Wallet Bundling Manipulation","type":"news_article","url":"https://www.kucoin.com/news/flash/fifa-world-cup-token-wcup-suspected-of-wallet-bundling-manipulation"},{"credibility":2,"name":"TRM Labs — Tracking Crypto Scammers Ahead of the 2026 World Cup","type":"research","url":"https://www.trmlabs.com/resources/blog/tracking-crypto-scammers-ahead-of-the-2026-world-cup"},{"credibility":2,"name":"Malwarebytes — The 2026 World Cup scam economy is already running before the first whistle","type":"research","url":"https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/threat-intel/2026/05/the-2026-world-cup-scam-economy-is-already-running-before-the-first-whistle"},{"credibility":2,"name":"The Market Periodical — Bad Actors Target 2026 FIFA World Cup with Crypto Scam Ticket Sales and Memecoins","type":"news_article","url":"https://themarketperiodical.com/2026/06/12/bad-actors-target-2026-fifa-world-cup-with-crypto-scam-ticket-sales-and-memecoins/"}]},{"content":"The Hacker News reported in June 2026 that two Android banking trojan families, identified as Massiv and Perseus, are being distributed through unofficial streaming applications that impersonate legitimate services offering World Cup broadcasts.
