Verify a decision
Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.
How verification works
- We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (
payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction. - We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
- You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is
AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

Stablecoin rules took effect June 30, 2024; CASP licensing rules became operative December 30, 2024. First, access cutoffs: unlicensed CASPs must cease serving EU clients, which may result in trading halts, disabled deposits, and restricted withdrawals. If wind-down procedures are disorderly, users may lose control over timing of fund access. Second, asset protection gaps: MiCA-licensed platforms are required to segregate client assets from operational funds; unlicensed platforms carry no such obligation, meaning user funds may be commingled. If an unlicensed platform fails, users join a general creditor queue and may recover nothing. Third, market integrity deficits: unlicensed operators face no MiCA prohibition on wash trading or price manipulation, and no reserve disclosure requirement. Fourth, lack of legal recourse: no statutory investor protection or compensation scheme applies to unlicensed platforms under EU law. Binance submitted a MiCA application through a Greek subsidiary in January 2026, selecting Greece's Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) as its home regulator. In June 2026, Reuters reported that the HCMC was expected to reject Binance's application; the world's largest exchange would face a hard cutoff from EU markets without an approved license. Binance stated it 'worked constructively with regulators over the past 18 months' and expressed confidence the HCMC intended to authorize the license at an upcoming board meeting; no formal rejection had been officially announced as of reporting. In contrast, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, OKX, Crypto.com, and Bitpanda each hold full CASP authorization through specific EU member states, with passporting rights across all 27 member states. Separately, Tether (USDT) — the world's largest stablecoin by market cap — does not hold MiCA authorization. Multiple major EU exchanges including Coinbase Europe, Crypto.com, and Binance delisted USDT trading pairs between December 2024 and March 2025 to maintain compliance.
