Verify a decision

Every moderation decision on AVOID.NET is anchored to the Solana blockchain. You don't have to trust us — you can verify cryptographically that we committed to a verdict at a specific moment and have not rewritten it.

How verification works

  1. We commit. When a moderator accepts/rejects a submission, we serialize the decision into deterministic UTF-8 bytes (payload_canonical_string), hash it with SHA-256, encode the digest as base58, and write it to Solana inside an SPL Memo v2 transaction.
  2. We store the bytes. The exact bytes we hashed are stored alongside the decision in our database. Anyone can read them and recompute the hash in any language.
  3. You compare three values. Database hash, your independently-recomputed hash, and the hash inside the on-chain memo. If all three match, the decision is authentic and timestamped.
The on-chain memo format is AVOID.NET|v1|h:<b58-sha256>|d:<id>|t:<iso>

Find a signature on any investigation page's decision log, or run python -m src.verify_decision --signature <sig> for a CLI check.

From there, the post alleges the funds were routed through intermediaries to Chinese over-the-counter (OTC) desks, framed in the post as an apparent attempt to avoid a Tether freeze. That report's cluster taxonomy lists SquidSquad alongside aliases including Sapphire Sleet, APT38, BlueNoroff, and UNC1069, and describes it as specializing in impersonating venture capital firms, investors, and business partners to target cryptocurrency project founders, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. Per the report, typical initial contact occurs via Telegram or LinkedIn, followed by a malware-laden Google Drive link or PDF; named malware families include RustBucket, SwiftBucket, NimDoor, and AppleScript-based payloads, and named laundering channels include Tornado Cash, eXch, Noones, Paxful, and dust-collector services. This describes a social-engineering/malware-delivery pattern distinct from the direct exchange/platform compromise described in the October 2026 ZachXBT post, and no source identified in this investigation explicitly cross-references ZachXBT's October 2026 SquidSquad reference with the CertiK Skynet cluster of the same name. ZachXBT's prior DPRK-related attributions have in at least one major case been subsequently corroborated: following the February 2025 Bybit exploit, ZachXBT's on-chain attribution to North Korea's Lazarus Group was reportedly backed days later by the FBI, which tracks the responsible actors as TraderTraitor, per TechCrunch. In an October 2026 report covered by Decrypt, ZachXBT said he had spent weeks posing as a paying client of a Chinese laundering network he alleges has moved more than $1 billion in stolen crypto for Lazarus Group, funding an address with roughly $349,700 in USDC to gather intelligence that he says helped trigger freezes of a cluster exceeding $12 million tied to the Bybit theft, including a reported 442,000 USDT freeze by Tether. ZachXBT has also stated he has helped action more than $75 million in freezes related to DPRK-linked incidents since 2022.
