Fact-check findings
What an automated fact-checker found when it re-read Cardano against the sources the page cites. Only the most recent review is shown.
These findings are produced by an automated reviewer, and its results vary between runs: the same page, checked three times on the same day, came back with 15%, 20% and 34% of its claims disputed, mostly because each run extracted a different number of claims. Treat what follows as leads, not rulings.
“Disputed” means the reviewer could not reconcile the claim with the evidence it cited. It does not mean the claim is false. “Unverifiable” means no reachable source settled it either way.
Nothing here changes the page on its own. A proposed correction is applied only after a human moderator approves it; until then the page reads as it did when reviewed.
unverifiable
3 claimsNo source the reviewer could reach confirms or contradicts the claim.
- #7[unverifiable][awaiting moderator]in section: Background and Organizational Structure
“As of October 2026 ADA had a market capitalization of about $9.5 billion, within the top 10 cryptocurrencies.”
reviewerADA market cap about $9.5B as of October 2026 and price between $0.26 and $0.30No dated October 2026 market data found. Sources I saw suggest a lower market cap ($6-8B) and price (~$0.17-0.19) in mid-2026, so the figures may be stale or inflated. They should be re-checked against a live tracker. - #8[unverifiable][awaiting moderator]in section: Cardano Foundation X Account Compromise (December 2024)
“On December 8, 2024, the Cardano Foundation's official X account was compromised.”
reviewerCardano Foundation X account compromised Dec 8, 2024 with ADAsol promotionNot fetched in this review (limited sampling). It is consistent with my general knowledge of the event but is not independently verified here. - #9[unverifiable][awaiting moderator]in section: State-Sponsored Targeting via Atomic Wallet (Lazarus Group)
“Elliptic attributed the attack with high confidence to North Korea's Lazarus Group”
reviewerAtomic Wallet June 3, 2023 hack of $35M+ attributed by Elliptic to LazarusNot fetched in this review (limited sampling), so it is neither confirmed nor refuted.
partially supported
3 claimsThe cited evidence supports part of the claim but not all of it.
- #3[partially supported][awaiting moderator]in section: Network Partition Incident (November 2025)
“Two parallel ledger histories persisted for about 14.5 hours”
reviewerPartition lasted about 14.5 hours, and the FBI was notifiedThe official report does not state the 14.5 hour duration; it is likely from secondary reporting. The FBI item is hedged ('reportedly') on the page, which is acceptable. - #4[partially supported][awaiting moderator]in section: SecondFi Wallet Exploit (June 2026)
“Funds were drained from 374 wallets between June 21 and 23, 2026, with confirmed losses of about 16.1 million ADA (roughly $2.4 million)”
reviewerSecondFi (formerly Yoroi) drained 374 wallets, about $2.4M374 wallets, $2.4M and Yoroi are confirmed. The exact 16.1M figure and date window are not in the CoinDesk article. - #5[partially supported][awaiting moderator]in section: SecondFi Wallet Exploit (June 2026)
“SecondFi reportedly secured about 129 million ADA in a recovery fund and outlined a restoration plan.”
reviewerSecondFi secured about 129M ADA in a recovery fund; Lazarus-consistent markersSubstance (funds secured, claims process) matches; 'recovery fund' wording and Lazarus attribution are not in this source. The page already hedges the attribution as alleged and unconfirmed. The same 129M figure is described as both 'at risk' and 'secured', which a reader may find confusing.
confirmed
3 claimsThe cited evidence supports the claim as written.
- #1[confirmed][no action needed]in section: Allegations Against Charles Hoskinson: ADA Voucher Program (Resolved)
“An audit commissioned by IOG and conducted by McDermott Will & Emery and BDO concluded on September 2, 2025 in a 150-page report”
reviewerIndependent audit concluded Sept 2, 2025 in a 150-page report by McDermott Will & Emery and BDO; 14,282 vouchers (99.7%), 390 unredeemed vouchers (318M ADA), 6.1% over 65, 18 interviews, commissioned by IOGAll figures match the CryptoSlate report. The page correctly discloses the audit was IOG-commissioned and not an adjudication. - #2[confirmed][no action needed]in section: Network Partition Incident (November 2025)
“On November 21, 2025, at about 08:00 UTC, Cardano mainnet partitioned after a deliberately crafted malformed delegation transaction exploited a deserialization bug dating to 2022”
reviewerMainnet partition began Nov 21, 2025 ~08:00 UTC from a 2022 deserialization bug; patches 10.5.2 and 10.5.3; no user funds compromisedCore details confirmed by the Intersect incident report. - #6[confirmed][no action needed]in section: SEC Security Classification and Reversal
“On March 17, 2026, the SEC and CFTC jointly classified ADA as a 'digital commodity,' effectively reversing the 2023 position”
reviewerSEC and CFTC classified ADA as digital commodity on March 17, 2026Classification confirmed. The Robinhood relisting claim was not supported by this page; the BeInCrypto source is cited for it but I did not check it.
