{"investigation":{"slug":"texcat","entity_name":"TexCat","trust_score":0,"severity_base":null,"score_modifier":-56,"confidence":0.35,"status":"published","content_type":"investigation","summary":"TexCat (TEXCAT, listed as 'texas cat') is a small Solana memecoin themed on a cat in a cowboy hat. Public trackers show a low market capitalisation and thin liquidity, with figures that disagree between sources. DEXTools' automated DEXT Score is a third-party heuristic, not an audit, and its value has changed between captures. No enforcement action, team disclosure or independent audit was found.","sections":[{"content":"Blockspot describes TEXCAT as a Solana meme token built around a cat in a cowboy hat, with a community account on X (@texcat_token) and a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000. No official documentation, named team or independent reporting on the project was found. Blockspot could not be fetched directly in this review, so its figures are only as shown in search-result snippets and are treated as low confidence.","heading":"Overview","sources":[{"url":"https://blockspot.io/coin/texas-cat-texcat/","name":"Blockspot - Texas Cat (TEXCAT)","type":"other","credibility":3}],"severity":"low"},{"content":"On a DEXTools pair page fetched during this review, the DEXT Score read 71/100, with honeypot and mintable checks both reported as 'No', about 1,764 holders, and liquidity-lock information not provided. Earlier captures of the same page showed a score of 0/100, and a second DEXTools pair page listed a price of $0, so the data changes between snapshots and between pairs. The DEXT Score is DEXTools' automated heuristic and is not a security audit. Solana Compass snippets in search results listed roughly 2,100 holders, about $27K of liquidity and a market cap near $375K, while the fetched DEXTools page showed a market cap of about $44.9K and zero 24-hour volume. Blockspot snippets gave a market cap of roughly $341K-$371K; this could not be verified directly. These discrepancies mean current market figures should not be relied on without checking a live tracker.","heading":"Automated token checks and market data","sources":[{"url":"https://www.dextools.io/app/en/solana/pair-explorer/BdXfLfcbDE8YvpbvvmmGTduqcDesaQVUm5xLxgUc2S5t","name":"DEXTools - TEXCAT/SOL pair","type":"on_chain","credibility":2},{"url":"https://www.dextools.io/app/en/solana/pair-explorer/CzcFVsc2hQvf1ZwU6ya2vRF7g29aNu4nNrHw7JVVD3Vw","name":"DEXTools - texcat/SOL second pair","type":"on_chain","credibility":2},{"url":"https://solanacompass.com/tokens/BdXfLfcbDE8YvpbvvmmGTduqcDesaQVUm5xLxgUc2S5t","name":"Solana Compass - TEXCAT token page","type":"on_chain","credibility":2}],"severity":"medium"},{"content":"No holder-concentration analysis, mint or freeze authority review, or liquidity-lock verification could be sourced.
